[Steemit tips] Useful links to improve Steemit

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

A week or so ago I couldn't login to https://steemit.com for about 6 hours. I really like the platform and had been using it quite a bit so it was seriously frustrating. In the end I went on Twitter, for the first time in ages, to search for answers. At this point I didn't know if this affected just me or others too. Anyway, almost immediately it had become clear that many others couldn't login either but there are other ways to see the content on Steemit. The Steemit blockchain has multiple front end points of entry, when https://steemit.com was down, I was able to login to https://steemitdevs.com which is basically identical to the regular Steemit site (with same username and password). I think this is information a lot of Steemit users would appreciate (assuming they don't already know), which is why I'm sharing all the useful links I can think of in this post. Another option would have been https://busy.org - this site is very popular as the user interface is better (not as basic) than on Steemit. The eSTEEM app for mobile phones would have been another way to access the content from Steemit.

Sites I have found really useful are ones that record Steemit records/data. They can show things like your voting power, number of resteems, age of account, number of upvotes, awards won and a lot more. Loads of stuff you can't get from the Steemit site itself and you can look up anyone else.

Finding bid bots may be of interest to you. Below is just one example (there's loads more) of a bot tracker. You can check lots of information on upvote/resteem services like how much to pay, when, what currency, what to expect in return etc. This particular site is the most in-depth I've found.

There are loads of third party apps for Steemit too. They allow you to extend the boundaries of the Steemit platform. If you want to load a video on Steemit you have to upload on dtube first. These types of sites should be checked by everyone really, to get the most out of Steemit.

To login safely to third party Steemit apps - use steemconnect. This allows you to login without ever giving any keys (passwords) to your Steemit account.

Want somewhere to chat to other Steemit users? These are the two best places to do so:

If you need an exchange to buy/sell or deposit/withdraw Steemit then it's got to be the worlds most popular one, Binance. You can sign up anonymously and their referral payment is brilliant. Some people have earned fortunes just from referring others! Look at the top three earners on the image below:
