The Joe Parys Steemit 2.0 Video Course On Udemy Review.

I said I'd start taking Steemit a lot more seriously in 2018 and IMHO I've gotten off to a pretty decent start. I've began to blog daily, posting The Daily Dood along with a few extra posts a week some personal, some about crypto. The other day I came across an offer to take a free Udemy course about Steemit taught by @joeparys

https://steemit.com/steemit/@joeparys/01lobxp1

I know the basics of Steemit and how it works. Honestly after being on here for a little over a year I really should know a lot more than I do. I figured hey, the course is free, why not sign up and see if I learn something. So I signed up, thinking I'd know it all but hey, I was bored, had a couple hours to kill, so why not ...

What a great decision on my part, and what a fantastic surprise! The course covers the basics in the beginning. Things like getting signed up, getting around the platform, using the wallet. The first part of the course is fantastic for beginners, and especially for those new to crypto! Learning how to buy and exchange Steem and SBD can really be confusing to many noobs. I really loved how the course covered this topic. It explained everything and I even learned a thing or two about Blocktrades. I had never used that part of the wallet before.

Once we get past the basics, the course begins to cover more advanced Steemit stuff. Things I never took the time to learn about, delegation, voting bots, ROI on using voting bots, promotion. I have to say, I am really happy I took the time to take this course! I had no idea how delegation worked, or how voting bots worked. I'd heard and read about people using them, but never took the time to research it myself. WoW! This explained everything, and I can't believe it took me this long to find out about it.

On top of explaining bots and delegation in a simple way that's easy to understand the course also covers apps like DTube and DLive. More features I only just learned about recently. I wrote a blog post about it just the other day.

After you've finished the course you receive an award certificate that you can download and print out. It's sort of a diploma showing that you completed the course.

YaY! The Dood graduated from his first Udemy course!

All in all this was a great course for free and I'm really happy I invested the time in it. It only took about 3 - 4 hours to complete. I paused the course a couple times to experiment with some of the bots, and practice as I learned. I really felt this was time and energy well spent. If you don't know about bots and delegation, this is a must learn feature of the platform. Whether you take the course or research it on your own, I'm a little disappointed in myself for not learning about these features sooner. Overall I'd highly recommend taking the course for free if it's still available. There's also another special available for $9.99 and honestly IMHO it's worth the $10 bucks, especially if you're new. The regular price is $199.00 and to me that seems a little steep, but I guess that depends on how serious you are about learning Steemit. Is it worth that much? Value is in the eyes of the beholder and honestly I learned a lot. In many ways the lessons learned in this 3 hour course are absolutely priceless. I do wish a course like this would of been available when I first got involved in Steemit.

Thank you @joeparys for this special offer. If you should come across this post, I really enjoyed the course and thank you for posting the offer to Steemit!

As always, thanks for reading everyone and Steem on brothers and sisters! Steem on!

Ha. I went through that course aswell today. Rushed through the trading bit because I'm not doing that at the moment nor have any intentions to. I just want to increase my SP.

I'd already started using one bot this week and I will be returning to the section on bot tracker again and again I think. I found the bit where he works out the rewards to be pretty confusing.

I was most excited by delegation. I don't really have any funds to delegate but I can't wait to get to the point where I do.

So now I have 2 goals - to get to 500 SP so I get the slider and can use my upvotes better to support people and the new one, to get to a point where I can delegate. The potential of that seems brilliant!

I'm looking forward to the delegating some funds soon too. I can't believe it took me this long to learn about both bots and delegation. I'm really happy I took the time to watch the course. It was fun too for the most part. We both have similar goals. Still need my 500 SP, getting there slowly, it's moving up a lot quicker now that I'm blogging almost daily. I'll probaby start adding some steem to it again myself soon. I too think there's a lot of potential with the Steemit platform in general! So happy to watch this platform grow and evolve.

Didn't realise you weren't at 500SP yet. Hope you get there soon. I think the bots will help a lot.

Sometimes I'm tempted to buy some Steem too but I really, really want to see what I can do without bring any FIAT into it. Hark at me! I didn't even know what FIAT was a couple of days a go! Although I might have got it wrong. 😁

It's exciting for you to be in a position to be able to delegate. I'm going to be like a kid in a candy shop when I get there. Looking to following along with what you decide to do next!

I took the same attitude with this. I originally just wanted to see how I could do it growing on my own without investing anything. Eventually I did end up adding a little steem power & probably will again, now that I'm getting regular rewards. Although I've been on here for a year, I never really dedicated the time to Steemit that it deserved.
