So...I got Flagged for the First Time Yesterday.
And, to be honest, I am still trying to figure out why.
The post in question is this one. It's a simple little thing, containing a single hyperlink to an article on CoinDesk, followed by commentary on that article.
You'll notice that I didn't lift any material from the article itself to put in my post, I only posted a link (much like an ordinary Reddit post would). And yet, somebody decided that my post should be flagged.
I obviously don't know who did it (though one user did downvote the post, so there may possibly be a link there), but I'm beginning to suspect that their only reason for flagging me was because they disagreed with the premise of my post.
Now, if you disagree with me, then you are free to downvote my material. That is your right, after all. But if you flag my post, not because I broke any rules but to simply satisfy your bruised ego, then you are a coward. I already wrote a post about this previously, but now I am even firmer in my convictions.
Now, 99% of the people reading this are not guilty. But I bet some of you know what it's like to be falsely flagged. Thank you for reading. I hope we can be friends.

I can't imagine which rule I could break with it. I suspect some people are just envy of your earnings sometimes.
Yes, envy has to be a largely motivating factor.
But my post that was flagged was not on its way to making huge earnings, I should think. No, I believe that whoever flagged my piece disagreed with its premise, for I argued that the "Blockchain: not Bitcoin" philosophy was false.

Ignore the people who flag you or keep a list of names. So far they seem to be people with pretty low steem power, so it seems to people that don't GET that the flag is a FLAG not an arrow and is way up there in the corner away from the vote. I got angry seeing people flagged and wrote this last night:

EDIT: I've started compiling a list of who flags posts that haven't done anything wrong. You can do this too.
In ANY post change the URL portion that says steemit.com to steemd.com. You can then get a list of everyone that votes on a post, and everyone that flags it. I am SEEING patterns.
Thanks for posting the article link. I guess some people don't like that, but I always enjoy suggestions (since otherwise I have to wade through a lot of crap to find good articles).
I only posted it because it was relevant to the discussion and issue at hand. If I did not then I'd simply have to babble on about something I'd already written. I probably will link to my article for such discussions for awhile if it is relevant. I am no whale, I post and reply to people a lot. I care about perceptions and getting our community aware of some DIFFERENCES from how things are compared to what they THINK they are due to trying to compare something that is new and never existed before to things/systems that did not have the tech to do what this does.

I'm always happy to get comments. I love how much input I am getting on Steemit, as opposed to pretty much every other social media platform I'm on. It's a lot easier to feel like I'm being heard here.

Community Needs to Gang up and FLAG Everything "Bacchist and BestOfTheRest" are Thugs and Bullies
"Bacchist" and "Bestoftherest" are users in Steemit and are whales where these two have decided to control the community, what they say and post. They are flagging everything they disagree with and trying to crush users.
The reality check is this activity is nothing more than what THUGS and Fascists do in a community. They have abused their trust in the community and it is time that users strike back and stop this flagging and crushing users whom they have posted they want to send a message to. DO not have free speech. Do not post what they disagree with. Do not post anything that questions Steem or Bitcoin - ever. Do not post anything that is Anti-Socialist or Pro-American.Fight back, track this user down and whack the bastard and this gang. Over one article, they suddenly removed my funds, removed the article, and then removed other articles not even related to Steem.
They then downgraded my Credibility rating from 40 to 6 in 2 hours. Guys, too bad many of you do not know about world history, but this activity is exactly the type of thing the NAZIS did to everyone in 1930 - 1933 when the NAZIS did not like what they said....they then beat people up...then they had them jailed..then killed....is Steemit a free and open community or is is controlled by these Bullies and Thugs which I just proved exist....
...send a message back to these two guys and crush these Bullies and flag their ass to zero to say STOP this...stop the hate and BS....or people like this will crash the community and Steem very soon....frankly for what I see, Steemit business model needs to be changed and fast before people like this destroy it.

I realize that I'm not the one who's gotten the most false accusations. The "trending" posts always seem to get the most flags. Jealousy is alive and well in the 21st century.
