Steem Building Tip #1 - Use Your Upvotes Wisely. Minnows Helping Minnows - Success For All Project.

If you are a newbie(Minnow) with your steem gifted initial steem power of 15, your vote value starts at $0.002. You have to understand that though upvoting in steemit somewhat functions similar to liking someone's post in facebook and twitter, it is totally a different animal. It is a limited resource and you need to learn to use it wisely.

Every time you upvote someone's post your voting power is reduced. After you have upvoted 15-20 times in a day your vote value will be $0 and it restore to full 100% voting power after some hours. There is no point is upvoting someone when your voting value at $0. Not sure how long it will take to full voting power? You can check it out by visiting:

There is a popular saying here on steemit - "Come for the money and stay for the community." But we all know that we came here for both money and community. Otherwise we would have stayed with likes of facebook and twitter.

What has it to do with your upvoting? Everything.

We have to keep in mind that steemit is not just a blogging platform, it is an online business too. Of course, blogging is the major focus in steemit and upvoting blog post which are really good and of interest to you is expected, but spending all your votes on it alone is not a good idea. If you are a good blogger and making 100s of dollars for each of your blog post, you won't be wasting your time reading this post. But, unfortunately, that does not happen over night in steemit, unless you have 100s of dollars to buy upvotes from bid bots to push your post to the top of the trending page.

While trying become a popular blogger on steemit, we can develop the business side of the steemit and build up our steem dollar and steem power. One way to do it is to sell some of your upvotes to generate some instant SBD. But, minnows can't join the bots to sell their votes because sellers should have a minimum voting power of $0.03. Unless they bring in outside funds to boost their Steem Power, minnows will have very little voting power - normally less than $0.01

Minnows(Steemit Newbies) Helping Minnows. Success For All Minnows Support Project.

One of the big problems with the steemit newbies(Minnows) they get started with a lot of enthusiasm after looking at the payout amounts in the posts in trending and hot posts, hoping that they can get at least a fraction of it. But, when they post their posts at the beginning as newbies, lacking the support and following of big account holders, all they get is a few pennies and a few upvotes, if they are lucky. Discouraged and heartbroken they leave the steemit never to come back. Some of them stay a little longer hoping for whales and other big fish to help them. That rarely happens.

What we, minnows, have to do is to take pro-active action, help each other and grow fast. How can we help each other? There are many ways to do it such as upvoting, buying and selling votes from minnows. Sharing ideas and strategies to grow our accounts fast. But in order to do it we have to form small communities and grow together.
