If you have joined steemit recently, you know how hard it is to get a decent upvotes and income in steemit nowadays. The good old days of racking in 100s of dollars for a single post with minimal effort are gone. The whales don't seem to care about minnows(steemit newbies). Even minnows with high vote value seem not to care about minnows with small or initial, minimal vote value of SBD 0.002. The whales and minnows with high vote value and everybody in between have formed their inner circles and taking care of their interests. I don't blame or hate them, it is only natural - human nature.

But, in the mean time, minnows starting out with minimal vote value of SBD 0.002, try their hand at blogging in steemit get a couple of upvotes and a few cents, if they are lucky, lose interest and leave steemit for good and not stay long enough to reap the benefits of steemit.

Is there a way out? At least to get some decent upvotes and income when we start out? Of course, there is a way out. All we minnows have to do is mimic the whales and minnows with high vote value and do what they are doing. What are they doing? They get together and form their small inner circles to take care of themselves and their interests.

Rather than blaming the whales and minnows with high vote value and the short comings of the steemit system, we just have to get pro-active and get together and form our small inner circles to take care of ourselves and our interests. As the saying goes God helps those who help themselves.

One of the big problems with the steemit newbies(Minnows) they get started with a lot of enthusiasm after looking at the payout amounts in the posts in trending and hot posts, hoping that they can get at least a fraction of it. But, when they post their posts at the beginning as newbies, lacking the support and following of big account holders, all they get is a few pennies and a few upvotes, if they are lucky. Discouraged and heartbroken they leave the steemit never to come back. Some of them stay a little longer hoping for whales and other big fish to help them. That rarely happens.

What we, minnows, have to do is to take pro-active action, help each other and grow fast. How can we help each other? There are many ways to do it such as upvoting, buying and selling votes from minnows. Sharing ideas and strategies to grow our accounts fast. But in order to do it we have to form small communities and grow together.
