Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 23/4/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem price's and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your wondering when perhaps something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do occasionally change it's format from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as it's important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 23/4/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today...?

March 10th Steem reached it's highest so far this year at $0.55 along with SBD's which also had a breaker on March 13th with it's highest being $1.41. With Bitcoins they have recently been holding above the $5200 mark, the highest for Bitcoins near the latest upwave was $5390 but today we had another major upwave Bitcoin's started well by hanging around $5385 which was very close to beating this year's record and it did many times before the upwave even started as Bitcoins blasted to $5596! For Steem they have been trying to hold above the $0.40 mark after falling from $0.50 and they seem to be doing well not to go below $0.40. Steem and it's overall ranking position is around #52 amongst all the other cryptos. As you know we beat the January high marking our highest value at $0.55. The past few days Steem as been presenting themselves with various opportunities to buy-in and I believe it was on the 11th that was the best day to buy and now probably followed by today, yea not expected. But the drop from Steem was indeed expected but again down to $0.40 nor that it would of stayed at $0.42 for so long which is where we thought it would go again and stay. It was only 3 days ago Steem managed the $0.45 mark, yesterday it fell to $0.40 but mostly stayed at $0.41. Today we started at $0.41 and while it may have given the impression that today might of been one of those solid ones I think it seems Steem was obviously on it's way down, very slowly with only seeing a hint of $0.40 at ⏰10.45 but by ⏰14.55 Steem stayed stuck on $0.40 despite the upwave from bitcoins. Anyway if nothing much will happen for Steem in 2019 which is slowly looking more doubtful then I hope those who are still in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting because right now we are in a seriously good place to grow our accounts remember as the price goes up higher collecting actual Steem becomes more difficult. I also want to make it clear that I was apparently wrong in pulling the trigger too fast that we was out of survival mode, it seems according to Steem INC they still found themselves to be in survival mode but now we are officially crawling out. But longer in survival mode the conclusion from all this is to continue cutting of the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live the "steemd" instance size's went from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all of it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. Ned also said that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. Did you know that after the wallet split from steemit.com is complete that both logged in and non-logged in users will see the adds on Steemit.com, I would rather not but understand this is part of keeping us out of survival mode if that was to happen again. It's also come to my attention people are still learning about the wallet split and feel this will continue to be a problem for a while so please have your keys backed-up, yes ALL of them and dont use your masterkey to log into Steemit.com, also when you click on your wallet yes you will be directed to a completely different website which should be "steemitwallet.com" please dont worry as this website is safe and part of Steemit.com. After your initial log-in you wont need to use your masterkey and so if you still don't understand how your private keys work or are relatively new to Steemit you can go to the Steemitblog account for a more recent official explanation. For SBD's they broke record March 13th reaching $1.41. Currently SBD's are at a "normal" pegged rate, which unfortunately doesn't seem like it will shift even with Bitcoins going up, SBD's stayed above the $1.00 mark with bitcoin's help but that was 3 days ago now which doesn't seem to be helping. Today's SBD start was $0.98 by ⏰01.40 it was $0.97 it continued bouncing between those number until ⏰06.45 when it fell to $0.96 it then jumped between $0.96 and $0.97 for the rest of the day staying mostly at $0.96.
