Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 23/1/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 23/1/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today..

There's a possibility that Steem might fall back down much lower than it's January high and no not $0.41 but now 0.43. On Jan 20th we had another Bitcoin downwave which was not s expected from the recent recovery growth, but what's interesting about this fall was how Steem was barely affected and even today we still haven't fully seen the affects of it. Bitcoin's high was at $4075 and it fell to $3491 this 3rd downwave reached into about %80 of the 2nd downwave's fall range now it's at %60, but Bitcoin as started going down again but regardless of this Steem remains above $0.30 if you remember the last time we were this low the Steem's price was under the $0.30 mark. As for Steem it started by surprising us at such early hours ⏰01.00 by hitting us with another high for this January $0.43 from there it was actually a soft downward move it still stayed around the $0.40 mark for half of the day it was only just recently that Steem as dropped to $0.38 making it now the best time to buy for today but if we can keep Steem around the $0.40 mark we can get out of this survival mode soon. If your a buyer there's some tough decisions to be made either buy now before the price goes up further or take risk in waiting on possibly one of the biggest opportunities to buy Steem as the Steemit account is powering down, Yikes PANIC mode ON! Let's not.. But this whole thing is important because that account holds around 44 million Steem! If the powerdown's don't stop in 13 weeks all that Steem will be tokenized meaning the price of Steem will drop by probably ALOT. While this means the end of days for some we still don't know how exactly Steem-INC are handling this move but I feel this Steem will probably go into other accounts therefore keeping Steem steady. I also don't believe they are running away with the money, it seems more like they are on a mission to protect it due to some threats. If nothing much happens in 2019 then I hope those who are in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting Steem especially if the Steemit account continues to power down. You should know that Steem at these low prices and with the Steem power-downs we are still on a survival mode era of Steemit.com basically Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's value to tank causing Steem-INC staff reductions, a possible threat to the website and the Steemit account security. The conclusion is to cut down the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live they have decreased the "steemd" instance size's from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. I also want to point out that we are indeed now nearly out of this whole survival mode situation. Ned also said recently that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. We know now SBD's are where they should be you might have already noticed that there is little STEEM to be be earned but instead we are receiving more SBD's which mean's things have got better. SBD's were alot more bumpy today than yesterday but still not once did it fall under the $0.90 mark, lowest was $0.93 it's highest was during the morning at ⏰04.55 and remains the highest for this month $0.97.
