Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 22/4/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem price's and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your wondering when perhaps something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do occasionally change it's format from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as it's important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 22/4/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today...?

Happy Easter everybody!! And so March 10th Steem reached it's highest so far this year at $0.55 along with SBD's which also had a breaker on March 13th with it's highest being $1.41. With Bitcoins they have recently been holding above the $5000 mark, the highest for Bitcoins near the latest upwave was $5390 but today it managed just abit higher at $5396. Bitcoins was holding around just under $5100 when we had a downwave taking them from $5176 to $4986 but a few days ago they recovered and went-up even further to $5210. Bitcoins continued upwards trying to get to the $5300 mark which it was just shy of from reaching $5280. Now while today we have seen bitcoin's at it's highest for the year keep in mind its still struggling to hold $5300 as we saw today as low as $5226. For Steem they have been trying to hold above the $0.40 mark after falling from $0.50 and they seem to be doing well not to go below $0.40. Steem and it's overall ranking position is around #52 amongst all the other cryptos. As you know we beat the January high marking our highest value at $0.55. The past few days Steem as been presenting themselves with various opportunities to buy-in and I believe it was on the 11th that was the best day to buy but lately with Steem being mostly at $0.42 today's drop makes it a good opportunity to get some more. This drop from Steem was expected but again not down to $0.40 nor that it would of stayed at $0.42 for so long which is where we expected it for today but didn't happened. Only 2 days ago Steem managed the $0.45 mark, now as you know yesterday it fell to $0.40 and mostly stayed at $0.41. Today we started at $0.41 instead of $0.44 and was pretty solid for most of the day with Steem only going down at ⏰03.45 until ⏰05.10 when it was back at $0.41. We did see $0.42 a total of 3 times I believe but unlike what we expected it strangely didn't hold. Anyway if nothing much will happen for Steem in 2019 which is slowly looking more doubtful then I hope those who are still in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting because right now we are in a seriously good place to grow our accounts remember as the price goes up higher collecting actual Steem becomes more difficult. I also want to make it clear that I was apparently wrong in pulling the trigger too fast that we was out of survival mode, it seems according to Steem INC they still found themselves to be in survival mode but now we are officially crawling out. But longer in survival mode the conclusion from all this is to continue cutting of the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live the "steemd" instance size's went from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all of it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. Ned also said that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. Did you know that after the wallet split from steemit.com is complete that both logged in and non-logged in users will see the adds on Steemit.com, I would rather not but understand this is part of keeping us out of survival mode if that was to happen again. It's also come to my attention people are still learning about the wallet split and feel this will continue to be a problem for a while so please have your keys backed-up, yes ALL of them and dont use your masterkey to log into Steemit.com, also when you click on your wallet yes you will be directed to a completely different website which should be "steemitwallet.com" please dont worry as this website is safe and part of Steemit.com. After your initial log-in you wont need to use your masterkey and so if you still don't understand how your private keys work or are relatively new to Steemit you can go to the Steemitblog account for a more recent official explanation. For SBD's they broke record March 13th reaching $1.41. Currently SBD's are at a "normal" pegged rate, which unfortunately doesn't seem like it will shift but dam we was so close again. With Bitcoins going up SBD's stayed above the $1.00 mark just 2 days ago with a good start at $1.02 and at ⏰10.45 SBD's hit $1.04 but today's the start was $0.99 and not once did it hit the $1.00 mark instead it fell at ⏰01.00 to $0.98 and again at ⏰03.00 to $0.97 which was the lowest for today. SBD's spent most of the first half going from $0.97 to $0.98 while the later half jumping from $0.98 to $0.99.
