How I Upvote and Why
There is so much content on Steemit curation can feel like a crapshoot. What I love most are the voices of people that feel real. I'm all about rewarding talent and effort, but I'm also in love with supporting community.
When I came back to Steemit, I brought some friends with me. Steemit friends help Steemit friends, or so I've seen it said. And I want to support my friends in being seen and rewarded just as much as I want to be seen and rewarded. Just as much as I want to make new friends (which I've also done here on Steemit) and support them in being seen.
Long story short, I'm starting a curation trail. One that focuses on what I think of as true voices, the talented who are here to persist, the opinions that are rocking the world, the shared fiction, poetry and moments that have me nodding or sighing or just wishing I could reach out and hug you, but an upvote, comment and resteem are all I have to offer here.
I've earned a bit here. I've put much of it back into Steemit to make my upvotes a bit less measly. I'm still pretty much a nobody. But if you hop on board and we work together, maybe we can all grow.

One day I'll be a whale. Until then, I'm just going to keep loving all the wonderful voices I can bubbling across this platform.

Yesterday was a bad day for me. I got disillusioned with Steem when I read that post on how whales think.
It was an eye opener but it hit me in the gut. I was so affected by it that I wrote something in my sleep and to my horror woke up and saw a reply to it 🤣
Anyway I feel much better reading what you said. We should be rewarding the great posts. Those posts that tug at our hearts with sadness, make us laugh out loud, fall in love, be awed with the stories, songs and images that they poured their heart and soul.
I am fairly new. I don't even have a lot of voting power but I love reading. I love great posts. I abhor shits posts that are just a money grab by using upvote bots and whales.
We need to increase the quality of our content and is only with a dedicated team of individuals who are willing to make a difference can we achieve that.
I do not want my last impression of Steemit to be the one that caused my disillusionment yesterday. I want to fight to realize that ideal of a Steemit that good and great content is king.

It's very hard to feel like you aren't seen when you are jumping up and down and shouting and investing your energy into putting a piece out there others will love. I love Steemit because of the possibility of being seen, but I also get frustrated because work I will have put my heart and soul into often falls under the radar, and days when I'm posting because I don't want to break routine rather than because I love being here--maybe that's the day I get a solid upvote. I want to write, plain and simple. And I don't want to have to starve to do it!
True and when I started doubting myself because I was not getting any views or upvotes it felt like am I not good enough. Then you see other posts and you ask is she better than me because she gets so much attention.
I will support you in your goal to make Steemit better. To the road of becoming a whale then!

Nicely put and I wish you the best in growing your curation trail and supporting "true voices". I think the best part about Steemit is the way it fosters community spirit and sharing, and tools like Streemian are great for people who don't have the time themselves to spend on Steemit but still want to see their voting power go to good use.
I do have to say I have personally had pretty bad experiences with Streemian as far as it being really unreliable. I have been using steemauto.com for a few weeks now and it seems to run far better than Streemian ever did for me - just something to keep in your back pocket in case Streemian starts acting up for you as well.
