Burning SBD to Revive Old Posts?

So, I got this idea. You can give feedback.

From time to time, I come across posts where people talk about their best - in their opinion - posts not doing well. Maybe they posted at the wrong time of day, maybe the headline needed some work, whatever it may be. They are disappointed when their labour of love was not all they imagined it would be.

Well, sometimes the posts just suck, let's face it.

However, sometimes you just have bad luck.

So, what if were able to burn SBD in order to revive an old post? Send it back to the New feed with a new payout period. Maybe even an X amount of hours for X amount of SBD. Or something like that. Could be a flat amount, too.

If feasible, this would create an incentive to burn those SBD, which is always a good thing for the economy. And you wouldn't be burning them just because, you'd get something in return.

Potential spam came to mind, but the fact that it would cost money would prevent the bulk of the spam, and if the post still doesn't do well even after the revival, the user is probably not likely to try it again for that post.

What do you think?

Sort:

I think most people would just repost it in a new post, rather than spend the $

Doesn't @cheetah complain about that, though?

not really... @mallorcaman posts his pitch for his steem poker league nearly every day, and theonly thing that seems to happen is cheetah comes in and upvotes it. Unless its grossly repetitive, i don't think anyone would care really.

Hmm, right. Maybe if this was implemented, @cheetah could intervene and the community could enforce a rule that prevents re-posting old material like that?

It used to ... i think the consensus was that people felt that the rule wasn't worth enforcing because it did no harm when someone reposted.

thinking about it though, it would actually be somewhat difficult to implement voting rules for it.

Does it start again from zero? And if so, are the people who voted on it last time allowed to vote on it again? If not, how do you just prevent the same guy from recycling the same post every three months for an exponentially increasing reward.

The post should definitely not start from zero, for the exact reasons you stated.

That's a good idea, it's similar to the promoted post feature, but it would be nice if we could promote something more than 24 hours.
Another way to address the problem with some post being lost in the ocean of articles could be featuring them on a feed on your profile.

That's a nice idea, too. Which is why I upvoted it when you posted it. :)

Who does not know this situation? Wrong day or wrong time ... the idea is good, would be a great option!
Edit: By the way, upvoted and re-steemed!

People do it for free now, just an example from my today's feed

Anyway, to pay money to probably get more disappointment ?

That's good idea... Also promotion could be real promotion like I saw in minds.com recently.. So to burn sbd for views.. Promotion tab is not really useful.. You promote something to force someone to see it not to put it in a promotion list..

But on the other hand, the idea of "forcing" someone to see your content doesn't sit well with me, either.

We should always have a way to filter stuff from our view.

That's the dilemma of the promotion feature. Though there are people who frequently check out the promoted posts.

I agree to this.. but then there is no point promotion to exist..
BUT
I just thought a good motive for promotion tab... Promoted posts to give more curation points depending on the promotion value...
More promotion value more the percentage of the curators..

It's a idea , not sure how well it would work , i have gotten to a similar position , I would say just promote all your posts until the 30 day mark , then repost :D
