So, we spent her SBD on fresh croissants this morning! The video will be uploaded to DTube through my @samstonehilltube account. And here are some pictures of my son Esteban enjoying his pastry treat :)
As vegans this really was a taste treat for us.
That's right.... they use a crazy amount of butter to make croissants.
Trust me, I used to work in a bakery.
We are not 100% strict about our vegan ways because we don't like RULES in this family.
We prefer KNOWLEDGE. We know that cows milk goes into the making of these tasty treats.
We acknowledge it out loud in moments like this and we take the time as a family to thank whichever animal it happens to be.
Then I bless the food, asking that only the best energies come to us. I do this silently.
And then we eat!

I usually vote your posts because I like them so much but this one I will not be up voting for! That's because you made the mistake of claiming that you are offering a treat to your son in the form of a croissant made with butter. as you well know, butter is obtained from cows by raping and stealing. The cow is raped in order to make her lactate, and then the milk is stolen from her baby and it is full of puss and growth hormones and you call that a treat?! teach your child that dairy products and meat products and eggs are a punishment not a treat! Teach your beautiful child that cows nipples are out of bounds for humans and that it's tantamount to beastiality to play with the cows nipples!
Love your honesty Danny. And you are right of course. It should not be seen as a treat. An enjoyable taste sensation at the expense of imprisoned & tortured cows might have been better wording.
But for sure I will be teaching him exactly what the situation is once he is old enough to understand :)
And i doubt he will remember this croissant experience!

Everyone has a perspective which they are entitled to :) @dannyshine is a friend and was making a fair point. The cows here are not treated well. If indeed the butter came from Bali.

i agree, everyone is entitled to opinion ... cows here arent treated well either, they're put in a patch of grass, made fat and killed ... i still eat meat although if i had to kill my own meat id probably be a cannibal, so if thats my hippiecritic sin then so be it, i make up the karma by spoiling my cat beyond repair, which isnt fair to all those poor starving kids in asia and africa and south america who would LOVE that chicken breast i give him half of or that can of tuna i dont even touch, i think its best to do what you can ... not every place in the world has the luxury of having protected nest hippie homes and vegan bakeries i'm sure it's not that simple.
There used to be one in the city i lived here before when i was getting my life back before the state and the police state (yea i go on about that a lot ...) screwed it again (not that i did anything that time but i guess once... then always ...) i still dont know why but i got back here in my birth town, rightwing hickville ... the city had all kinds of stuff like vegan bakeries where you could buy croissants from non-raped cows (actually .. well .. you know :) ) pardon the sarcasm it became inherent to my being due to the extremist radiation in this place i even (since i was "going back to school socio-cultural worker) applied for internship at a non profit (that was the system like, few days of school the rest practical workfloor-for-free and it was the perfect city for that, i think it succumbed half to the right wingnut wave too by now) where there was two pretty young ladies who kept A DOG on vegeterian diet ...
the dog was happy so , so far no complaints but i think SOME people need reality checks
like REAL reality checks on the real world like going outside of the house at least once a year or something because everything seems to be turning to -isms from behind the screen
and so on .. i can yap for hours, i'm gonna save you the read ... no need to reply , bro, i dont feel like you're one of the scamzers here trying their best to burnout fast, take the money and run its a-okay (insert thumbsup moji .. havent printed the cheatsheet yet)

Opting to eat in ways that are not harmful to the environment and to animals, while also allowing ourselves to indulge if it is something that comes to us in alignment, and just taking the time to honor all that has gone into it and pour blessings towards those that are currently suffering in the world as a result of this.
When I do partake in meat, it feels like I'm able to transmute and transform a tremendous amount of energy and suffering just through the power of the prayer that comes with it.

In that moment it felt right.
I am familiar with the feeling you described. We ate pork recently and despite the blessing, I felt my body suffering after eating it. Which reminded me of a feeling from years ago when I lived in London with a sausage maker! Only back then I was so accustomed to the feeling, I believed it to be normal.

oh my where have I been?
haha! It's all good. I was able to get the account back and in the end they took nothing. Due to the 7 day power down protection! But they did try to scam people from my account, changing the banner to make it look like an account owned by Steemit Inc. Many lessons were learned. And it made all of us stronger.
There were many changes implemented to protect us better in future. Though ultimately it was my silly mistake!
