My Monthly Steemit Blog Snapshot [August 4th - September 5th 2016]
I wanted to take a moment to share my experience so far solely based on the tips and comments I've received. This information has been loosely guiding the topics I've written about. It is also the first time I've been able to interact with a hands-on community with influence. Thank you for this experience.

Here are the top 10 posts based on the tips I received.

I don't want the tips to direct all of my post decisions, but I will be stopping the Steemit Cookbook. I enjoyed making it, and felt like it was a good activity to draw attention to posts that could have slipped by.
I will continue to explore the connections between music and other subjects, and I've recently enjoyed writing about philosophy.
My music background started when I was in grade school, and I would sit in during my father's band practice. Hearing the behind the scenes opened up the reality of being a musician and helped me understand there are a lot of patches to smooth over to get a complete cohesive song.
I really pushed my music knowledge forward by taking jazz classes in college and learning the guitar. One of my guitar teacher ended up being my stepdad and we continue to play together during the holidays.
My interest in programming began in 6th grade and I've had an off and on relation ship with code. The Coding Journals will help me be more disciplined about writing algorithms and intuitive GUIs.

I didn't filter out my own comments from the data, but in most cases I am responding to a question or statement about my post.
From the previous table, the post that generated the third most comments is a poem I wrote called Hydrogen Oxygen Bullseye. @cathi-xx, said my poetry was chucked together and lacked emotion. I replied to a few of these comments and feel like this was a subject of interest but still need to study other poets before I can become more fluid with my verse.
Direction
I have a passion for music and experience with it, but I like to leave some room to try write in different categories. Some of the categories that pique my interest are philosophy, psychology, code, and meta categories examining what makes a good post. Articles that peer into what blocks steemers from writing when they have such a vast amount of freedom to write about anything.
I believe I am still a minnow, so my job now is to build my following and sharpen my writing so that people can connect with my message in any genre I choose.
The reality of being a minnow is that I will have several posts that I will enjoy writing, but will receive no visibility or traction. Days of this lack of visibility is discouraging, but through this post, I hope the quiet days to allow me to see where the lightning arcs of information connect with you and build from there.
