Steemland - Reputation system
Aaaand we have a reputation system.
As far as i understand the reputation number between the ( ) is based on your votes and/or flags you received until now.
Now the questions..
How does my reputation helps other people reputation ?
How do you help them build reputation ?
Will it affect the value of my vote ?
If it will, in which way ?
What's stopping other people to simply flag your post and ruin your reputation ?
I've been on Steem for less than a week, please explain to me what the hell I could have possibly done to get a -5 reputation.
You'll need to be upvoted by a bunch of 7's or 8's to undo it. The devs in the slack channel said they will help if you have an unfair reputation level.
How can one contact to devs?
I haven't done so myself but there must be instructions for joining the slack somewhere..
You got a lot of flags on your comments , thus giving you a negative rating.
You made a bunch of posts that were all the same, you looked like a bot (and they were pretty spammy, in fairness).
Looking a like a bot was part of the joke. In fairness, to some people they might look spammy, but for some it was LMAO. To bad it's much easier to get a downvote then get an upvote with this Orwellian reputation system.
Strange how this thread has 6 votes and 22 comments with the new system.

Hi @royaltiffany. I believe if someone who has a higher reputation than you upvotes your post, your reputation will increase. If someone has a lower reputation than you and flags your post I don't think it will have an impact on your rep but if someone who has a higher reputation than you flags your post your reputation will be decreased.
For example, since your reputation is higher than mine and if you were to upvote my post my reputation would be improved but if I downvote you (which I would never do) your reputation would not be affected since my reputation is lower than yours.
Well how's that different from voting/flagging ?
Reputation is different from voting and flagging because if your reputation is low your comments will be hidden and you loose power and influence on this platform.
So anyone coming here new can be instantly downvoted and their content hidden forever even if it's good content. People will be using this system for personal grudges and downvoting anyone they dislike on other media platforms.

The difference is that future posts by the same person (e.g. a spammer) will be hidden by default. It won't be necessary to flag each individual post.
I have my disagreements with some aspects of it but overall it isn't too terrible.
Already checked it....i am not sure i like it so much...i need to know more about it.

I agree, for example, what does the algorithm that determines our rep score do?

What I have learned:
If you have little reputation you cant flag people that copy-pastes posts because they have "more reputation" than you
If you flag people that copy pastes posts they rage-flag you and that makes your posts invisible
What the fudge ? How is that even helpful ?

What is stopping bots from abusing the new system like they did the old one?
I dont even want to think about bots...i am more concerned about the human aspect of this..
