I can’t really understand what actually is happening in steemit post rewards calculation?
I noticed the incident yesterday, but, didn’t take it so seriously. I thought I saw wrong. But, today I confirmed something terribly wrong is happening in steemit rewards calculation procedure.
So, let’s take a look into it –
yesterday this post’s potential payment was 12 dollars before 1/2 hour the payment was made.

But, when payment was made then I was paid only 9.65 USD. Same thing happened with the next post https://steemit.com/newslink/@royalmacro/newslink-zimbabwe-unleashes-new-dollar-pegged-currency-should-switch-to-bitcoin-instead
This post has : Before payout potential amount : 6 USD, after payout 4 USD only.
I've checked my other posts and got the same thing was happened :(
When this happened the fluctuation rate of steem price was less.
Now, I share my today’s observation -
- Look into this post : https://steemit.com/wilt/@royalmacro/what-i-learnt-today-south-africa-is-participating-in-largest-and-amp-most-advanced-hiv-vaccine-trial-program-makes-its-own
- One minute Before the payment made the post’s stat was : 6.19 USD potential payment
- After payout made the post’s stat is : 3.51 USD instead of 6.19 USD
- When this happened I check the price chart and found that steem price was increasing, not decreasing.
Anyone please, can explain it ?

when people post too frequently they are going to lose rewards.. this has happened to me early in the beginning when I was not aware of this... I made a post that went above $1300 but when it paid out I only got around $200 so imagine my surprise lol.. but yeah limit to posting 4 times a day only or u will lose $

I think only blog posts will be counted not comments
Definitely comments are not taken into account.
The comments are definitely not accounted for... Otherwise, I would have stuck to zero :D

Posting frequently can affect your curation rewards, but not your author rewards. Other people who have upvoted your post who then go on to upvote a lot will reduce their contribution to your author reward but changing the value so much with a minute to go and an increasing steem price? That doesn't make any sense. Unless the final calculation is only happening right before payout......but I'm fairly certain the reward values are more dynamic than that and update continually. I think this needs looking into.
