"Each of us has our own criteria for what we’d like to upvote. No obligations to explain."

I'm definitely not here to complain! ❤ I wanted to say thank you for supporting my journey. I was scared at first seeing the votes thinking to myself; "What did I do? Is this a trap?" and even now, I'm still shocked every time I receive a vote. No one is entitled or required to do anything, but I am even more inspired to continue providing the best writing that I can.

Instead of maring negative behavior, I marvel that you are circulating positive values to many authors on Steemit, including myself.

When Steemians open up my blogs I want them to think; "Oh damn, I actually have to try if I want these kinds of rewards!" :D

Haha. You earned those votes by having set a fine example, and it’s been pleasure to support you as one of the people on my SteemVoter list - precisely because of such intentions as embodied through the action of consistently leaving great comments and making excellent posts that raise the bar for others reading. 😊🙏💖

The honor is mine as well! I will strive to do
more, for myself, my supporters, and other Steemians. Quality should be contagious.
😶🙆‍♀️💓

Quality should be contagious.

I like this. :-)

Thank you ^_^

I only upvote content I actually read and enjoy, and rather dislike the trend of votebots. After all, the point of a blog is to write things people will read, and read things people wrote.

In my view there is no harm in using the bot to filter the vast amount of posts. As long as you actually read it in the end I see no issue.

Wowow...👌 perfect to have the clarity on your voting and the bot voting. Your vote must count, rather getting it wasting thru curation trail....

With your comment towards voting bots . I feel like it’s important to see what you’re voting on . Sometimes someone may be taking advantage and not posting content that “deserves” the instant upvote while others out there are working harder . So I think it’s great that you checked that out yourself .

And it’s your SP so you have the right to do whatever you’d like with it

There is a lot of good info in this post thank you. What affected me the most was about the use of a bot. For the reasons you shared has been my hesitation in going that route. You have given me a lot to chew on. Thank you.

TRUE, SINCERE, and GENUINE. I vote(like) it.... More power....

Good Morning! So I am reading your post right now and you mentioned that you can see what the bot votes for you? I am two weeks now on Steemit and use a bot for the auto vote too. So where can I see on what the bot is voting on? Is there a special tool? I am also look into Steem Voter right now.

https://steemworld.org/@YOURUSERNAME (fill in YOUR user name!) is my favorite.

https://steemdb.com/@YOURUSERNAME/votes also works.

and SteemVoter also has a "log" section where it shows what it voted on:

Thank you so much! Super helpful! I am checking all your articles now and see what I can lern more about Steemit. Have an awesome day or evening. :)

Makes a great deal of sense @rok-sivante! I didn't quite get it til I started really digging into Steemit with daily posting, curation, and buying my own STEEM and earning SP to work with bots that I started to notice the way this eco system has a way of surprising me no matter where I turn or how I do it.

With it being so dynamic and also a place where people may rotate between highly inspiring or prolific shares, there may also be days where the posts are more personal or reflective of the mere social media/meme-variety and not necessarily warrant such high upvotes/etc.

I have gone back and forth on this, since September when I joined.

I was using Streemian up 'til it was ended. Although I did enjoy the convenience of having an opportunity to do the upvote rotation on auto, it was draining my VP quickly even with the tweaks and I have no problem draining my own VP doing my best to support the eco system and new people who are sharing quality content here.

I definitely would like to get on your voting list. I like to think of my content as quality content, well-thought and interesting. I am really interested if you can check my blog and let me know what you think in general, even if I don't make it to your list, my primary goal is to get better and getting better in this community means feedback.

Someone removing a vote from my post or ccomment had never happened to me until yesterday when a comment of mine was downvoted.

I do understand now may be why i was downvoted, there are really many reasons and i cannot specify which. It is good though i now know the reasons.

as per the box that comes up when someone clicks the flag:

Screen Shot 2018-02-02 at 7.00.32 PM.png

if you can check the box for one of these, it's understandable why you'd be downvoted.

if none of the above, hard to say.

personally, if I come across someone who has been spamming (or rarely plagiarism) and choose to flag them, I'll leave a comment on the spam post to let them know. if it just happens out of the blue with no reason given at all and none of these things were done, that can kinda suck - though if it was a highly-rewarded post, the most likely option might be disagreement on rewards...

I guess i confused downvoted and removed vote!
I was not downvoted but a vote was removed as you said in your article.Sorry for my misinterpretation! I used downvot and remove vote to mean the same in my above comment!
