Steemit Tools Weekly Edition #1

Steemit is a special kind of beast in the Social media ecosystem. Blockchain driven and cryptocurrency rewarded. The fact it is built on a blockchain means that the data it generates can be minded by anyone willing to process it into something usable. Several members of the community have decided to do exactly that. Some by making regular posts on subjects such as posting activity. Other have created tools that allow us to view data about our own accounts, other accounts, and various bots in real time. In this posts and weekly follow up to it I'll be sharing all of the tools I have found useful.




THE GENERAL USE TOOLS

A great tool by @penguinpablo. You can check all sorts of information about your account or someone else's. You change the account in the upper right box along with your preference for the dark or light format. I prefer the dark. The upper middle box gives you a quick break down of the account's curation and author rewards for today and yesterday. The upper left box shows the accounts current Steem power, Steem back Dollars, and includes a handy slider to determine upvote reward for a specific upvote percentage. The calculator lets you fiddle around with different Steem power, voting power, voting weight ideas. This is useful if you plan on buying an upvote from a bot or leasing some Steem Power.

Next comes the recent upvote box that shows you what posts or comments are getting upvoted, by who, and at what upvote percentage. Click on the name and a pop up box shows you the voters Steem power and vote power at the time of the vote.

Recent curation rewards and pending post payouts round out the final two boxes on this Steemit tool.

A new tool that presents a lot of the same information as Steem Now but in a different format. I suggest trying each and deciding which you like better. One extra piece of information you can gleam on Steem world is the exact value in SBD of an upvote. This can prove invaluable if you want to know the ROI of an upvote bot.

A very interesting tool where you can see incoming and outgoing votes for users. It also lets you see big interactions as well as some other unique stuff. Be careful, you might go down the data rabbit whole on this one.

A simple tool with a single purpose. Enter a username and see what the total pending payouts for both posts and comments are. Easy Peasy.

Not really a tool but it proved invaluable during the recent DDOS attack on the Steemit URL. Because Steemit operates from the blockchain of Steem anyone can create an interface and the developers of Busy did exactly that. I suggest you keep the site in mind for the next time Steemit goes down. Plus give it a try, you might like the interface better.




THE UPVOTE BOT TOOLS



Steem upvote bid bot Tracker

@yabapmatt put together the mother of all upvote bot tools. He's got all the major bid bots with accurate voting times and current bid states, minnowbooster vote power, and randowhale's status and next wake time.



Dr Otto Bid Analyzer

This tool is a good double check for the Steem upvote bid bot tracker before you send off that hard won SBD. It's been around longer. It was broken for a couple of weeks but now seems to be working again.



Minnowbooster

Minnowbooster's own real time vote power tracker. Take the upvote reward information with a grain of salt, it's overly optimistic most the time. The main thing to no is that if the vote power isn't 51+% then you should probably hold your bid buy for your next post.



The Randowhale Chrome Browser Extension

Adding this extension to chrome and it will alert you when the whale wakes and when it goes back to sleep. When he does go back to sleep you can check the Steem upvote bot tracker linked above to see the time till he wakes again.




THE CURRENCY EXCHANGES

Steem has two fairly easy ways to trade Steem and SBD. The first is Block Trades. With block trades you can trade for Steem, SBD, Bitcoin, and a few other currencies. I have not used Block Trades as of yet and I'm no expert in crypto trading so seek advice before doing so your first time. I know I will.

Unlike Block Trades I have used the Currency Market and will continue to do so once a week for the foreseeable future. It's supper easy, just enter the amount of Steem or SBD you want to buy or sale and make the trade. The amounts of each will be adjusted in your account as soon as the trade is executed.
