Steemit: It's Now or Never!

It's now or never people! Now is the time to get famous on Steemit or you might lose this opportunity, FOREVER. It is getting harder and harder to become famous on Steemit, but it's not too late yet, so if you seriously think about making a career on Steemit you should start now, or lose this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity forever!

In the beginning it was easy to earn from 5,000-20,000$/post as we can see with posts like these:

These were the good old days, and it was just 2 months ago, and now you can barely earn 500$/post if you are amongst the top celebrities around here and put out great quality content. So the window of opportunity is closing.

Now it's not too late yet, but it is getting harder and harder to succeed, so if you just signed up recently, don't be sad, there is still an opportunity, but if you don't act quickly, and decisively, you won't become successful.

Every money making opportunity follows a power law curve, commonly known in economics and sociology as Pareto Distribution.

This means that those who join early an investment/career/opportunity like Steemit, will benefit the most. The top 10 whales have probably joined and invested in the early days, and here we are 6 months later, and the window of opportunity is closing rapidly.

I am going towards success lately, but it took me 3 months of hard work, if you just joined now, it might take you 4 or even 5 months to get to my level (but who knows if you are more talented you might make it faster). But I wasn't putting in all my efforts into it, but only recently.

I have recently been working with 101% effort to become successful on Steemit, seeing that the opportunities become less and less. You should work hard now too, if you want to get ahead while you can.

Competing in a free market is hard, and Steemit is a free market of ideas and content, and only the best can make it. There is no government here to give you a monopoly through regulations, there is only you and your ideas against other people and their ideas. Do you have what it takes to be a celebrity of Steemit?

There will be a hardfork probably next week that will lower the inflation, and make Steemit more robust. This could make the Steem price go up again, and if that happens, then the high rewards could come back.

So you should really work hard now to get ahead, while you can, because if the rewards will increase again, you could obtain big profits from blogging here, but first you have to become a known person here, so now is the time to expand your audience and get yourself known around here!

You could buy Steem Power while the Steem price is cheap, this would give you a huge advantage over the people who invested earlier at higher prices!

This is kind of like saying all my efforts of curating, commenting, recruiting haven't been working at all. :P

I get it that you might mean people will want to get even more famous after the changes and since we will become more and more, it will be hard to get on the hot/trending pages. :)

No, what I am saying is that we only have 100,000 people on steemit so we are very privileged to be here. And after Steemit goes viral, which it will in my opinion, we will get millions and millions of people joining, and if we can succeed now, we will become very famous and very rich after the millions of people start joining us.

I don't disagree entirely, but you make it sound like anyone who signs up next year won't have any chance at all. To me, the big unknown is still what would if a celebrity(e.g. Taylor Swift) with millions of twitter followers etc. comes here and tells all of their fans to follow suit? In that case it surely wouldn't be too late for the celeb, but how would that affect everything else here?

I am sorry but this is the raw truth. I am not saying a person signing up in 1 year or 2 years will have 0% chance of success, but it will greatly diminish, and that point it would be like playing the lottery.

I remember on Youtube, most youtube stars became famous around 2007-2008 when it really kicked off, and now despite millions signing up, it's very rare for a new star to emerge.

I don't know exactly, but it was something like 90% of the Billionaire families in the world became billionaires before 1900, the rest before WW2, and only 2 of them became after WW2.

So the distribution of wealth/success, always favors early adopters. Heck just look at bitcoin, how lucky were guys who mined in 2009.

It's the Pareto distribution, and this is how things are.

Yes, the first movers will have an advantage, but how would this platform get serious long-term growth if it becomes so much of a lottery/crap shoot for new users? I thought Ned and Dan wanted this thing to compete with the FB's and Twitters of the world, and making it so new users have basically no chance would discourage tons of people.

Well it would force people to put their best in it. Everyone wants to make money and succeed, so they will put everything they have into their content and the competition around here will be fierce. But this will make this platform very high quality, it will be very easy to outcompete FB or Twitter with their low quality contents.

New users will still earn more than in any other platform. If Steem's price grows everyone will have a chance of this, but only the best people will get to the top.

Libertarianism & free markets will always lead to a meritocracy.

This could make the Steem price go up again, and if that happens, then the high rewards could come back.

As I said in other posts (am not sure it was to you, so that I repeat :p), we may need to wait for three months. This is the time needed for all those who want to run away to power down. And only then we will be able to start on a fresh basis :)

I am not sure this three month transition period will occur, but this is an option, isn't it?

I don't think the price reversal will be that steep and that early after the hardfork. I think this hardfork is necessary because I have been criticizing the inflation eating way the value, but it's only 1 step to make steem great again. We need more user adoption, after the inflation is fixed, the supply will be stabilized, but we need demand.

And if there is some chance to go viral towards the end of the year or next spring, then and only then we will see massive price increase. This is how I view the possible future.

In any case, I agree that the change with respect to inflation was necessary. For the rest, I guess we will know more next week :) For the moment, we can only talk about possibilities.

I think the admins should reach out to more celebrities like they did to the libertarian community. Now its time to expand, and get some youtubers, possibly some lower level musicians, and then slowly expand the userbase, and go for bigger and bigger social groups.
