you involve kids too early with crypto and blockchain stuff...

I introduced my children quite early in it-stuff and they are quite curious about steemit as well. So if they ask something, I give an answer that seems to me right. Well. they asked why it's important and "funny" that the 7 rules of steemit are all about a good password...

• The first rule of Steemit is: Do not lose your password.
• The second rule of Steemit is: Do not lose your password.
• The third rule of Steemit is: We cannot recover your password.
• The fourth rule: If you can remember the password, it's not secure.
• The fifth rule: Use only randomly-generated passwords.
• The sixth rule: Do not tell anyone your password.
• The seventh rule: Always back up your password.

I answered as I was able to (like several months ago)

Timejump to today:

My son (9) was quite keen about getting an own laptop, so he really "worked" hard and saved every dime he got for quite a while. On Wednesday we got one with a good price / quality ratio affordable to him. It arrived on Friday...

I never saw a more happy young boy and as I knew, that he would get along, I let him experiment with it for some time, before setting it up myself (with internet, adblock, children security etc).

What he did so far was installing minecraft including his savegames, setting up a background image (minecraft), he set up a screensaver (after 1 min) and he set up a windows password (remember... you'll have to enter this after each time, the screensaver hits in)

and nope... you can't log in to his laptop with this password, we changed it to something more reasonable ;-)
