Selling your design, photography, source code for SBD - Here is how!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

What if I told you that there is a platform which has been designed for Steemians to be able to sell their digital products on the Steem blockchain directly!

For content creators

Are you a banner designer, an artist, a photographer or a source code producer, you can now sell your original works for the amount that you want on the Steemit blockchain.

We have original works and we are not able to gain visibility on Steemit as we have a low reputation or not many followers or any other reason that might make it hard for us to make any money on Steemit.

As a banner designer, you can design banners and put it up there for display and then when a fellow Steemian likes it, it just have to buy and then be able to use it.

As an artist, we can sell out arts in high resolution format so that the Steemian can later print it out and have it framed or for whatever other purpose he might want to use it. You have the psd version of your art work, you can sell it so that another person can modify it to create a new art.

As a photographer, you can sell your great pics in high definition which in a way will reward you for the work that you have done and is sitting idle on your laptop. When we have the chance to show our talent, we must do it and we never know when the right sound come knocking at our door.

As a source code creator, you can sell your source code on the platform and users can buy them if they find it useful and want to implement. Like other websites selling themes and ready made websites, we are having the opportunity to sell our work for SBD.

As a bot creator, I can sell bots that can do specific thing for a Steemian, like automatically collecting reward on payout or any other useful bot!

For us fellow Steemians

We all have many talents but there is one at least where we suck. I am a good programmer but I am not a good designer. Instead of using my credit card to buy a design, with all the transactions fees and delay in payments, I can buy it using SBD and get the files instantly.

I really like a picture and want to use it but I fear plagiarism or theft. What if I get so many flags for using a copyrighted content? I will have to rebuild my reputation again which is really painful. Luckily, I can buy the picture using SBD itself and use it as I wish. I even have proof of the purchase in case I am accused of plagiarism or theft. We all want our reputation to remain clean and be loved by the community.

I need a banner or a footnote gif, I can get it there for a fee and then use it without any fear and be proud that our hard earned SBD can be used to buy useful things.

SteemFiles

Luckily this has changed since 9 months but the tool itself has not been given its proper value. Steemfiles, created by @leprechaun and run under @steemfiles, allows for content creators to upload their work in any format onto the website and you can specify the amount of SBD that the work is worth.

Pretty simple to use. No need to login or to identify yourself. You just need to fill in the above form and most importantly specify the price and correct Steem ID.

Once you have uploaded your work, it will appear in the gallery section which shows the thumbnail that you have uploaded in the above form.

As you can see, you can sell pretty much anything of value in this market. There is a music record by @reggaemuffin or Steemit fire logo source psd file by @bitrocker2020. When you click on one of the icons, you will be redirected to the purchase page.

If you want technical support for your purchase, if ever there is something wrong with the download, then you can provide your name and email address. Otherwise those details are not mandatory. When you click on the purchase button, it will then give instructions on how to proceed with payment.

You get a message on the bottom instructing to pay the amount to @steemfiles with the memo text as shown. Once payments are done, the download should begin automatically.

Is this a scam

Can this be a scam? Is @steemfiles a scammer? Is he trying to take our SBD and then not give us our files that we have purchased! Well I have tried it out and let's see below how it went.

Just to be safe I tried buying something which is cheap and I am a nature lover. So this picture was perfect for me. I clicked on the Purchase button and sent the memo text as described below.

Once the payment went, the download started automatically in less than 5s as they stated and it was awesome.

And in my Google Chrome, in the download section, I could see the file has been downloaded.

And now I can do this without fear of copyright infringement :)

Beautiful view of a lake by @videogeek. Enjoy :)

My call

We can all work together, content creators and fellow Steemians, to make the community better and create new capabilities on the Steem blockchain. There are so many great tools which are being created that can help us achieve so much more apart from blogging.

There are many features which are lacking and the GUI needs some improvements. But is has the required features for us to be able to buy or sell using Steem which is quick and convenient.

As a content creator, I will try to upload something great to see if I am able to sell at least one copy of it just for the fun of it :)

As a buyer, I would like to have more variety so that I can buy my banner and possibly an end note gif for my posts XD

I am a programmer

I am proposing my help to @leprechaun and @steemfiles and the entire team behind that if ever they need a developer to work on the front end or back end of the tool, I can provide that extra hand :)

Can this be the Amazon of Steemit for digital content ?

Thanks for checking my post out!

Do give it a try and post some emojis there tip! XD

Thanks @pisolutionsmru for the SBD much appreciated. The only problem is my emoji's are all currently free and I won't be changing that. There are currently too many flaws in steemfiles and it needs major changes to be of any use. I will however keep an eye on it.

I am trying to get in touch with the developers to see if I can help them to improve the platform :)

They should consider running it within steemit as a post. Have categorized headings with links to posts where the stuff is available to buy. They could get paid in SBD for posting sellers links. Then let the sellers sell directly to the buyers and negotiate their own deals. I could set one up quickly but don't want to get involved. I offered personalized emoji's for an upvote with only a handful of requests, so I'm not convinced the idea will work.
Thanks you gave me an idea for another emoji:

Thanks for the suggestions :)

We can see if we can develop something like this in the future!

There is a "Contact @steemfiles" tab at the top. I was thinking the tab was too wide but maybe the phrase "Get in Touch" would be better?

Good idea. As the number of files grow it would be helpful if we could sort the files based on type, cost, color, etc.

How are you verifying that files are owned by the uploader? It would be embarrassing to have a plagiarized file being sold on your site.

It's not his site. And yes, it is a problem. I don't even know if the file was uploaded by the person the funds are going to because people don't even want to log in.

Maybe because I wrote on it people are thinking it's my site Haha!!!

Can we get in touch in Steem chat to discuss if we can work together to evolve the platform? I have the same username @pisolutionsmru

Cheers and thanks for stopping by :)

Hello. My username is @leprechaun. I sent you a message on steemit.chat.

You've received an upvote from #TheUnmentionables - a SteemIt community full of members who like to kick ass, take names, and occasionally do it wearing (or forgetting to wear) our unmentionables...

Looks like a good idea. I'm a photographer and I sell licenses on stock sites, like Shutterstock. I would suggest having something like that for images, so it's clear what they can and can't be used for.

That would be a good idea to prevent conflicts in the future! Thanks for the idea tip!

I uploaded one of my fractal images to see how it works
http://www.steemfiles.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?id=75

I bought your fractal :)

Thanks, Hope you like it. I see the money goes to steemfiles, hopefully I see a transfer later.

I also need to contact @videogeek to see if he got the payment for the photograph that I bought!

@sharpshot do let us know if you got the payment for the purchase XD

Still haven't received the payment. Will I ever get it?

@videogeek confirmed that he got his payment. Did you try to contact @steemfiles?

Watching for the followup on these two. Very cool!!

Nothing received yet, I'll let you know when I get it. We can see what's happening in wallets, that's one great thing about steemit.

I like your idea.. its looking good.. Thanks so much for your sharing buddy... 🖒🖒🖒🖒

This whale did not about Steemfiles. Whale done:)

Haha!! Thanks for checking out my blog! Great I was able to help a whale about something tip! XD
