I steem, You steem, We all steem for...?

.

OK, this is me . Standing on the shoulder of my girlfriend (@rhi-marie), convincing her that she is much more click worthy than I. It was mentioned by freiheit that my previous post might gain more traction if I proved my identity, so here it is. I am a real "Steemit-er", with a real ambition. My ambition? Well, it's the same ambition we all have. I want to generate Steem for my content. But, as with any good content, mine comes with a twist. I don't want thousands of dollars, I don't want fame. I want to be able to take this thing and generate exactly $25 USD, turn it into a tangible currency, and Give it to someone who needs it. It comes from not only my curiosity about what it takes to trend on this new type of social media, but a belief that this new type of social media has more power than we ever imagined.

Just think, you could feed a village with one make-up tutorial. You could fund an independent political campaign with the media used to promote it. You could put your kids through school, buy organic, clean up your neighborhood, get the homeless from your backyard into a shelter...the list is endless.

I know we live in a cultural landscape where "I" is more important than "them". Where the odds are stacked in favour of steem payouts being spent on yet another starter cap, to "diversify your style". Another pair of earrings, to "match your outfit" to get that first payment for the new big screen, because we could all use another 4" inches. I'm not trying to change that. I am just as guilty of self-serving pleasures as the next guy. Despite having left my career and beginning a 4 year journey of travel and expierience, I have not managed to completely oust my inner western consumer.

I've coined the hashtag #steemforchange, and provided a link to my previous post here. I hope to build some momentum with these posts to actually hit enough Steem to start documenting the process of cashing it out and getting it to those in need. I understand that Steem needs us to keep the currency in its organic state, and assure you my intentions are also congruent with this sentiment. I will not power down, I will not just dump all my Steem into bitcoin, simply use a measured amount to make a point and help some people stimulate their own economies.

What I am trying to do is prove that Steem CAN be more meaningful, and that Steem's potential is unique.

A healthier community for everyone, #steemforchange

#steemitforward if you make posts about how you help people with money you have made from steemit I will gladly help to vote and increase the popularity of your posts. It really is great when people see outside of just themselves. Bless you!

Great tag, will use it on the next post!

Thank you kindly.
That kind of support is exactly what I am talking about. Both inside the firewalls of Steemit and outside of them. @dan says he sees a world where contributions and distributions are curated by the people who run the machine. I like this sentiment, alot.

#steemforchange

With all the support you now have the chance to make a big difference in someone else's life. I'm excited to see what you decide to do with your earnings. It'll be great to see others join the #steemforchange movement. There have been a lot of dark times recently for the world, but this has the chance to shed a light through the darkness and restore faith in humanity. I love how this platform has a real ability to make change. Hope others see the value of looking outside themselves and what a big difference it can make in the lives of others.

Thanks! Let's hope it can take us all somewhere far beyond where social media has taken us thus far!

Excellent post. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Steem potentially allows for the greatest redistribution of wealth ever known to man.

this got $600. I am proud of you.

The hot girlfriend did the trick. It's always hot girls. Part of us IS human after all. I could invent a cure to cancer, and it would NEVER sell in a million years no matter how many times I promote it. I can have my big booty big googley eyed girlfriend do a simple kindergarten skill level pose for me and the entire would would be saved. God Speed to your success Madillorama, KUDOS recognizing that we now live in a women's world.

SIDE NOTE: HITLERY CLINTON will be HELL for the USA - but I pray a hot sexy queen with big boobs and big brains decides to run, then USA might actually be saved. HAHAAHAHA!!!! :D

Haha. I won't deny that the hot girlfriend doesn't hurt (much), but I'd like to think that now that we have agreed this is a topic worth our energy, at least some of us will click on the next post for the content within. Don't worry though, I will ask @rhi-marie to donate her time for the cause. To be honest, her proof reading keeps my posts from sucking, and that takes a lot more time than it does to snap a pic.

Thanks to everyone who's voted, can't believe how well our post is doing :)

And thank you for lending your lovely self to the cause! Without your proof reading and grammar correcting, it's safe to say the post would look like a pile of soggy mushrooms ;)

i Agree with you :) there are many useless post which having much income ...:3 and many useful post which didnt get much income :3 ...i feel pity with the people who make a useful post and didnt get much income ....and the worst is mostly steemit user giving a vote to post with sexual element (example :big boobs, perfect ass ,dll :3 )

Any publicity is good publicity for the steemit community. The point is not what we vote for, but we do with our new decentralized monetary system!

New decentralized monetary system? .... and how to explaint that?

Perhaps it's in a very infant state, but still, we are dealing with a much more free currency here than we are with the fiat currencies of our planet.

Here's a link talking about bitcoin, and how it's centralization differs from that if fiat currencies. It's my very, very basic understanding that something like this is the destiny for Steem. I'll keep learning, thanks for making me think hard about what I am trying to understand.

This is the reason I am starting to fall in love with Steem: people like you. People that have real ambitions, goals, and aspirations to do something, change something or make a difference with this type of platform. I hope to see more of your content as we move forward.

PS. I was literally thinking of doing the same thing with my intro post, except I was going to have my wife hold her hand out like she was holding me in the background lol! Well played sir.

Good post! I like it! Good Luck To You!

You mentioning a good point ...
