Who Is Your Pick For Steemian Of The Week - In Your Opinion, Who Is Bringing Value To Steemit And Why

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Steemians are doing so many things to bring value to the Steemit platform. We should be appreciative for all the projects and initiatives moving forward for the benefit of us all.

I'm sure many of you feel the same way I do and would like to show your appreciation. So I came up with an idea.

Let me first ask you:

  • Has someone on Steemit inspired, helped or encouraged you to Steem on?
  • Is there a Steemian who you feel deserves recognition for the value they bring to Steemit?

Let's share your story with the community. Who on Steemit deserves recognition for the content, work, and value they bring to us all.

In the comments, just add their username and a brief description of why you feel they deserve recognition. You can high a high-five to as many Steemians as you want, just tell us why you feel that.

Example:

@god Because he loves you.

Everyone likes a pat on the back, but more importantly, many Steemians work behind the scenes to make this a better platform and a little recognition from the Steemian community will show our appreciation and give us an opportunity to meet the folks doing great things here.

Thanks guys!

I would support @sykochica for this! Other worthy recipients would be the people on curation projects who are busting their asses to help rewards reach deserving authors and posts. I can speak for the ones I have worked with directly, all of whom are doing amazing work right now: @anwenbaumeister @liberosist @kevinwong @the-alien @jrcornel @hanshotfirst @royaltiffany @pfunk @firepower @lpfaust @justtryme90 @coinbitgold @gargon @pgarcgo @jamtaylor @yoonjang0707 @morning @baharoba @cristi @lemouth @infovore @steemship and @more-people-are-helping-but-i-can't-think-of-all-their-names-right-now!

Awesome response! I've chatted with many of the people you've mentioned and love the work they are doing to make Steemit rock. Including you @donkeypong and thanks for mentioning some new names for me to get to know.

Oh yeah. I second @sykochica . She's been helping people on the #steemprentice and writing guides and the ambassador kit which is awesome.

Awww, tyty! *blush

What a tough question. There are a lot of people doing a lot of things, both visible and behind the scenes. Each of us is in contact with specific groups according to what we know and see.
My first call would be for @donkeypong. Folks know about him, but I don't know how many are aware of how much he does behind the scenes to make Steemit better for all of us, including the noobs. More than likely, he had something to do with each person's first decent payout, even if indirectly. He's show great character in his interaction too.
@donkeypong for president! :P

@donkeypong has supported a number of my posts, too, and as a noob I'm very appreciative of that. Good choice, @anotherjoe. So many good people on here.

@donkeypong has supported my posts as well and does a lot for the community.

If memory serves me, @donkeypong was one of the first Steemians to reach out to me on Steemit Chat to comment about a post i had made to bssically give me a high-five. It was encouraging and made me feel valued. Can't remember the post.

It's OK to mention more than one person. I realize there are so many people dong so many cool things to help us all so go ahead and tell us your favs.

He's my pick, overall I think. However, there's a lot of work going on that we might take for granted. Also, because it's in beta, a lot of development is happening that we don't see until it's out. Or, it's out and we don't realize how much somebody has put into it.
@jesta has done some amazing things to help us get a ton of info. He's working on other projects now that will help Steemit advance beyond what we're seeing today. I can't let cats out of bags, because it's not my place to do so. But a couple of cool things could be coming out within the next few weeks.

He mentions some of it in his blog, so you can look there. But I'm not sure he's covered all of it, so I'll just play it safe. :)

@sykochica has been amazing help to me with my seemingly asinine questions in Steemit.chat this week that I've been in the blockchain, but she never makes me feel like an idiot for asking questions. Plus, she's available, she does a lot to curate and resteem new material from promising minnows through her own blog, and provides a metric ton of help and support through projects like the SteemitTalk Podcast, #steemprentice and beyond. She's my nomination by far. People like her will keep new people active and on Steemit, which will grow the quality and the quantity of content we offer here. That's the future.

I also think @sykochica is extremely helpful, everywhere... on chat, on Steemspeak and blogging. I second this vote.

She is a big help here and I love her ideas.

I wish to pick @steemswede as Steemian of the week. They write some great reviews on films, books and... whisky. Also ruminations of philosophy and politics which are unusually rational, particularly for Steemit. They are always well written and add a personal perspective that is so essential for critics. I particularly love the choice of films and books being reviewed and how other Steemians watch/read these based on their reviews.

Wow - where to start? I feel I must recommend three artists for different reasons.
@storyseeker for her generous posts of how to get your work out there and seen in person. Her expertise is a boon to all artists here on steemit. Not to mention her work is phenomenal and of the highest caliber.
@natureofbeing for her dazzling ceramic and mosaic work. I think it's fascinating to see her process and how she ties it in with her personal life. After all, our artwork is an outward expression of who we are. And @natureofbeing - even her name, says it all.
@nekromarinist - I have never seen more expressive and masterful black and white line work. He is truly one of a kind.
@infovore - where would we be without his steemmag updates? And always helpful. He has devoted so much time and energy into steemit.
@the-alien - Wow. I am floored by his dedication to the curie project. And his blog posts are always a treat.
Well, all of you put so much into it. I second @donkeypong's nominations in that regard.
@macksby, for his productivity and beautiful storytelling - truly thought provoking
Last but not least, my friend @ericvancewalton who has set a whole new bar for productivity and generosity. I would say he is steemit's finest writer.
I know there are so many others.

I just got a message from @infovore just a few minutes ago offering Steem for the "winners" of this post. Very generous of him, but I'm not running this as a contest. I justs wanted to know people's opinion of who brings value to steemit.

Your response had been very helpful and informative. Thanks.

Tee-em is pretty bad ass. Lol

I would say @donkeypong, @infovore, and @kevinwong. All of them seem like kind and genuine people. Also from what I've viewed all of them have helped the community out a lot.

I agree completely. They help so many people including me and are doing so much for the platform and community.
