Steemit Upgraded my Life! AGAIN! [New Super Computer]
I just got my new PC in the mail that I was able to save up for and get thanks to Steemit.
My last PC was on it's last leg. It was a "meh" laptop that was getting to othe point of being nearly unusable. I couldn't really get photoshop to run well and it started freezing constantly. Since I need photoshop for my art which helps me make money and keeps me happy this was a big issue. This computer is such a big deal for me. A life-changing big deal that I have wanted for many years and need now more than ever to keep me entertained while I am confined to my home as I battle my disease.
Look at this beautiful, glowing beast of a machine:
Not only is it going to be great for working, which it is, but it will help me be able to have adventures. You see, I am very physically disabled and haven't much been able to leave my home in years which is driving me mad. I am now able to play any game pretty much with max settings. I have already started playing "Life is Strange" and Skyrim's special edition, remastered. It looks beautiful!
Here are the specs of my new love:
- CPU Type: Intel Core i7 7th Gen
- CPU Speed: 7700 (3.6 GHz) Quad Core
- GPU/VGA Type: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
- Memory Capacity: 16 GB DDR4
- SSD: 240 GB
- 240 GB
- 1 TB HDD
I bought dud speakers though and have to return them.
They were really nice speakers that were about $150 and had a subwoofer. Brand was klipsch and they are known for being great PC speakers. Unfortunately, the jerk who sold em to me refurbed on amazon sent me a worthless set. The cord soldered onto these was the wrong cord entirely. No prongs. So it was like a female cord which was impossible to plug in. Also, everything was covered in white paint and gunk which I painstakingly peeled off by hand before realizing these won't work.
Needless to say I was turned off by amazon, refurbed, and klipsch due to the awful experience so I found some speakers on Newegg by Creative and bought em with bitcoin.
I also got a refurbished 25" monitor.
Again, all of this was bought with my SBD. I am beyond grateful and blown away. I just can't believe how great this PC works. I haven't ever had a nice PC and didn't have a console or TV which was really rough since I am confined to my room. The games will help so much. Especially when I can afford a VR headset. :)
I can't wait to install the adobe creative suite and try out my design programs on this PC. I might start flash animating some of my cartoons since I have a computer that can handle whatever I throw at it now.
Very nice. 100% upvote towards your next computer!
hehe Thanks. Next thing I will be getting is a VR headset. :D
Congratulations on your beautiful and very functional new computer rig. You deserve it. I have been following you since my first day with Steemit. I can only imagine how much more you will accomplish with this MONSTER computer!
Aw thanks!! :) I can't wait to see what I can accomplish with this guy. I seriously almost cried a few times while using it. haha I just am still in shock I finally have such a nice system. :')
If you use it creatively I bet you will never get tired of it. It's not just a work tool, it is aesthestically pleasing and is a great toy in so many ways. It can be a good friend too because it never criticizes or talks too much.
I agree. XD Work tool, toy, friend. I could marry this guy. :D
Very cool beans.
Thanks!! ^_^
Very cool @lauralemons!
Your an inspiration to the Steemit community. great job and continued success. Computer looks awesome!
Nice! It's great seeing people cash in some Steem for real world objects we can enjoy. I just got myself a new monitor too :-D
Hey, we both have hp monitors! :)
Wow.. very nice
Thanks! :D
You will have to come up with a thu'um for Steem.
Game (Steem) on!!!
thu'um? :O
Keep playing Skyrim, you'll get to it.
That thing is formidable. We spend so much time on computers these days, it's so essential to have a good one. Glad you have something to occupy your time better!
Congrats on the new computer. You are the third person I read here (on Steemit) who had bought computers using their SBD. Very cool.
