The First Steemit-Powered Dance Music Event!

Hello everyone! Happy to announce that our debut dance music event (on 5th August in Kuala Lumpur) was a resounding success! This is a follow-up post to https://steemit.com/business/@kevinwong/steemit-and-the-dance-music-scene.

We achieved about 75% venue capacity despite having a tough, last-minute competition coming from an established club in Kuala Lumpur.

This is the team and me

The debut event is a big first step for us: being a lean, agile company tapping into the potentials of Steemit. We are currently just at the beginning phase of exposing Steemit into the dance music industry. While we are not 100% actively pushing Steemit onto the crowd at the moment.. local music producers, organizers, and various club managements have taken note of Steemit.

Please forgive us if we are rough around the edges - this is all in the name of bootstrapping ourselves without big money interests. We are doing this for the love of music, and how it brings people together. The anarchist in me knows that music has the power to liberate minds.

So what's next?

Now that we have established ourselves as competent partymarkers - we are currently looking to expand beyond Malaysia to all around Asia. Jakarta, Bali, Bangkok, Cambodia, Mumbai, New Delhi, to name a few. We hope our little innovations will bring us far.

We are bringing audiovisual artists, stage performers, and set engineers together as it is part of our passion to do so. Thanks to an expanded budget, all thanks to Steem/Steemit.

Being a porous company, we are also welcoming Steemians who are interested in audiovisuals, stage performance, and event management to openly contribute to our movement. Exposure for Steemit in great music events will be a positive for the network as a whole.

We are open for contributions and collaborations. Also, we will soon provide remote-working opportunities with Steem as payment. If you are planning to run your own dance music event initiative, we will be glad to open up all of our business practices with you. We're all here to help each other.

All said, we will continue marketing for Steemit, and use earned SBDs wisely in making future initiatives for Steemit more compelling and memorable. At the moment, I am discussing the possibilities of Steemit with some fellow DJs and music producers. It is generating plenty of interest.

I will definitely run a workshop once we sort out the potentials. (One of the many possible use case includes open-sourcing production work. Openly share production stems, write tutorials, and create with others.)
