My Collection of Useful Steemit Posts (by @katerinaramm)

in #steemit6 years ago

Almost a year has passed since I first joined this platform and I have been spending here a lot of time actively and by choice.

Being a part of some communities (@greek-trail, @steemstem, @actifit) I often need to share a few of previous links for help and guidance on a variety of issues or queries.

This is why I decided to gather a few of my useful links and share them here into a new post. I hope they will be useful to new and to experienced users. Feel free to add you own useful links below or post your questions and comments below.

Thank You for all your support these months and for your questions that motivate me to go on

Are you New on Steemit?

You might want to take a look at this guide, which includes useful information from what steemit is, what you need to do when you first get here. You will also understand what your expectations should be and how you will succeed your goals. (depending on what they are)

Need a Few Ideas about What to Post?

It may happen to you whether you are new here or not. Not to know what to write about .. If this is the case, take a look at a previous guide I made with a few ideas for blog posts

What should I write about?

And since you are here, I am sure you would like to know how to research about a topic you care about

How to Research for a Subject

Supposedly you have done a great research and you wish to share it with the world! What is the best way to present it?

Would you like to Know about Images' Copyrights?

No. You cannot just google about something, find an image you like and use it on your blog. Especially when your blog is on steemit (you earn steem = money = commercial use)

If you prefer to be on the safe side (because you need to remember that you cannot erase data from the blockchain), read the below guide about how to find images that you have the right to use and how to use them with markdown editor!

Everything you ever wanted to know about images on steemit but did not know you should know

How about the Ultimate Markdown Guide for Steemit?

Whenever I wanted to create a table, center an image, embed a video etc etc I had to search in order to check the code used. But that took so much of my time that I decided to create my own guide with everything I ever had seen / used / searched for.

So I came up with the (in my humble opinion) Ultimate Guide For Markdown

ULTIMATE STEEMIT MARKDOWN GUIDE

And now what? How do I know if my post is good or not?

If you have not blogged before steemit, chances are you are not familiar with how readers react and what they enjoy reading. Especially if you wish to write for projects such as @steemstem and more, it is good to check their guidelines and to read posts by them.

I have written my personal opinion about how someone could evaluate their own post. But please note; It might take some time to read and implement my notes (in your own unique way)

The Only Question to Ask Yourself: Why Are You Here?

You always need to ask yourself. Why do you do what you do? Why do you continue doing it if you don't enjoy it? Is there something you can / should change? What are your expectations?

I believe we need to know our priorities and make sure that with honesty and integrity do what we love. We should do no harm and when possible offer something good to the world.

When I reached almost 7 months on steemit, I wrote this article about how to make the most out of this platform. I still believe everything I wrote back then (and more that will be probably in a next post :))

If you have some time to spare and especially if you are new here, take some time to read it!

I will stop now, with the hope that this is a useful post and with the hope that we all take a moment to think before we speak (or write)

Wow. That was pretty helpful, especially for newbies. I'm glad there is still someone who gives a damn for those poor souls. I really hope authors, especially from steemstem community, would stick around. It's sad to see how the created section right now, I can't seem to find as many articles as before. Maybe I would recruit some of my friends on this platform.

Hi @conficker
Thanks so much for visiting, I am always inspired by your posts and comments!
I have noticed that the number steemit posts created depend on the steem price. With such a low these days, being also August, the authors are most likely on vacation :)
Again, I sincerely thank you for taking the time to comment on my post.
I hope I can give a small hand into educating users, this is the only way to bring more good into the steem-world.
Greetings :)

Thank you very much for these valuable guides!

Ha @katerinaramm, back again doing what you're great at, mentoring. I've really learnt a lot from you. Thanks :)
