STEEMIT Q&A

q&a.jpg

I know that when I joined Steemit, I really had to wander around in the dark quite a bit in order to find my way around the platform itself as well as figuring out how things work. I have learnt an enormous amount since joining but I continue to learn EVERY SINGLE day – there is still a lot about this platform that I have not waxed just yet – and some of it that I probably never will… (The technical stuff bores me somewhat lol)

What I would like to achieve with this post is to get some input from EVERYONE on Steemit… new and old, large and small…

I have broken this down into two sets of varying questions directed at the newbies here on steemit and then to the well-established members of the community.

I would really LOVE to get some answers to these questions…

And yes, there is a plan for this… which will be disclosed at a later point – so ALL your input would be greatly valued. You do not need to answer every question – just the ones where you feel you have something to say…

Ok, here goes:

TO THE NEW MEMBERS OF STEEMIT:

  • What aspects do you currently find most confusing about the platform?
  • What aspects do you currently find most frustrating about the platform?
  • Do you REALLY understand the difference between SP, SBD and STEEM?
  • Do you understand the upvoting system?
  • Do you know what vests are?
  • What do YOU do to get more attention on your posts?
  • Do you request upvotes and/or follows and if so, how and why?
  • Do you write about anything or do you focus on specific topics?
  • What is your objective here on Steemit?
  • If there was one request you could make to the Steemit dev team what would it be?

TO THE THE ESTABLISHED MEMBERS OF STEEMIT

  • If you were to impart one pivotal piece of advice/info to new members, what would it be?
  • Did you financially invest in the platform, did you work your way up from zero or both?
  • How do you get consistent engagement and upvotes on your content?
  • Are there any aspects which you currently find frustrating about the platform and what are they?
  • In your opinion, what is the biggest mistake new members make?
  • Do you ever assist newer members with advice to "get on their feet"?
  • What facet of steemit would you say you are most knowledgeable on?
  • What did you struggle with the most when you were a "noob" here on Steemit?

Like I said - you needn't answer all the questions... only those that you want to - even if it is just one of them... In addition to this, if you feel you have anything else you would like to add regarding the platform or its members which roughly pertains what is outlined above, then feel free to share...

REALLY looking forward to getting all your feedback :)

Until next time...

Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

Never give up!

Did you financially invest in the platform, did you work your way up from zero or both?
I started from scratch

How do you get consistent engagement and upvotes on your content?
Writing in specific topics that i like, and within communities that appreciate the content

Are there any aspects which you currently find frustrating about the platform and what are they?
there are some similarities between steemit and life, both ain't fair, yet sometimes being unfair is the beauty of it

In your opinion, what is the biggest mistake new members make?
giving up so early on

Do you ever assist newer members with advice to "get on their feet"?
*I try to the best of my availability, I am part of so many communities, and i have a new community i started recently too, @arabsteem, and mostly my focus is on helping them, as well as anyone seeking advise, as long as not only asking for upvote *

What facet of steemit would you say you are most knowledgeable on?
Not sure to be honest, I guess writing high quality scientific posts? lol

What did you struggle with the most when you were a "noob" here on Steemit?
*Getting to learn all the bits and pieces about the system, concepts such as SP, SBD, STEEM... can be quite confusing, and there's just tons of communities and things to do and learn. We all keep learning *

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this @mcfarhat :) Really appreciate it!

In your opinion, what is the biggest mistake new members make?
giving up so early on

Yeah have to agree on this point, luckily for me, I manage to get some of my real life friends onto Steemit and between the couple of us we try and motivate each other to go on, which does help a bit.

Did you financially invest in the platform, did you work your way up from zero or both?
I started from scratch

I invested into Steemit, but only profits from other crypto I had already. I decided a while back to take small amounts each month and invest in crypto and grow where I can. Almost like giving myself a crypto allowance, if I can call it that. I have never went as far as investing huge amounts of money yet. I did however had some luck and made a fair amount of profits with the little I invested so far.

well done - yes having the right community is a strong point as well!
And of course getting investment from other crypto is a great source.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing @dobartim :)

You are welcome my friend @jaynie

very nice and good post. Thank u for share. I am new in steemit. Could you please tell me If chitaabot catch me then will I lost my reputation? What is Blacklist? Who is in the blacklist and why?

I welcome anybody else with more knowledge on the topic, but as far as @cheetah goes... to my knowledge you will generally get warned if you are using (and not adequately crediting) content from other sources... continually repeat this and your posts will then be flagged which would or could result in members down voting you therefore eventually lowering your rating. I don't know much about the blacklisting... but I would assume that once your rating drops below the entry level 25 you would be considered "blacklisted" as there is no reason for anyone's rating to drop lower than what was originally given when signing up, unless you are doing something you should not be doing.

This is what I have gathered anyway - I stand to be corrected by anyone who might know more.

Thank you ans for me. It will be helpful.

If The technical stuff bores you.
then I suspect that it's not going to turn out well if you ask questions.
that have technical answers.
the executive summary is

and sturgeons law

Hi @everittdmickey :)

The questions i am asking and the answers received are going to be handed to a team of people who each have strengths in respective areas - technical and not. We are all working together on a specific concept.

But also having said that... the mere fact that a certain topic might not excite a person greatly does not mean that they cannot or do not have an understanding of it.

Thanks for stopping by :)

you're welcome.
as long as I didn't bore you we're good.
