If you would like to see more equality in Steemit and see STEEM not only make a recovery in value but see the Steemit platform grow exponentially.
The only way to do it is to implement a tax on income from posts by those with incredibly vast amounts of steem power and use the revenue generated to pay a universal basic income to all steemians.
This will prevent users losing interest in the platform and if anything generate more interest.
If you like my idea and have any suggestions on how it should be implemented such as tax threshold or percentage of tax to be witheld,
please submit them in the replies section.

while it would be fitting to do to them what they want to do to us, ie take a piece of everything we make, I don't think you will go far with this idea :P ... they are simply too strong to let that fly! :)

Why does someone deserve something for doing nothing? This attitude is not only what is wrong with steemit but wrong with the world. They earned their SP or got in early enough to be lucky... let them do what they want. It’s not mine and it’s not yours and we have no right to demand anything. Make good content, join communities, do something to improve the platform... not just demand someone gives you something...
Not saying to take them for all they are worth but to tax future gains fairly and redistribute equally. In a similar way to how in real world situations there is inequality. Im saying give people a hand. There may even be some whales that would be all for it.

Or are we funding those that post memes and think they deserve more for them? I think it’s a horrible idea and honestly I don’t even see how you think this is acceptable. I do believe in a persons right to an opinion though and to each their own. I wish you well and hope you find success on the platform.
If I can be honest, I don’t think the accounts with large amounts of SP are the problem, at least they are investing back into the platform... instead it’s those with high reps that have no SP... which means they have sucked every single penny they have earned out of the platform and then complain about the whales... those are the accounts hurting the platform.
It would help the platform in the way that instead of being added to some whales pile, it will be circulated via resteem,upvote serivices and post promotion etc. you gotta have money to make money. Theres a lot of great content that goes unnoticed due to peoples inability to post promote their best content.
I don’t know, I started this platform with absolutely nothing... I’ve never bought a vote or promoted my posts... I just try to make good content. I’m not getting rich clearly but after investing everything I made back into the platform through powering up, I’ve now been able to cash out a bit to pay some bills. I don’t think you need money to make money on this platform. I think you just can’t expect to make bank overnight while not really producing anything. That’s just my opinion though.

Myself and anyone else who's bought in here would pull all that value out so quick it'd make your head spin.
Minnows would each get thousands of STEEM, worth a fraction of a cent.
This is the only place where that won't happen; which is why it's going to be huge.
Just stay powered up for another year or so, and wait until the new kids come to tax your stash.
You can't tax me now, and they won't be able to tax you then :)
