Can Somebody Teach Me How To Trade? While we are still kicking +best stories of the day :)

in #steemit7 years ago

Hello again,

Things are going good in the Crypto Sphere, wouldn't you say :) It's been an explosive month and I'm sure all of you will attest to that. I'm sure there is a lot of hype flying around and with market caps flying off like kites I'm sure for most it's been a wild run, where we are finally getting some bang back for our buck.

This post is inspired by my entry in the world of trading, so I want to share my noob findings in the market sphere, I'm not a classical trader so this is not a classic guide, it's more of a philosophy piece than just buy low sell high and watch inside the market :) we all know that, but who has the time and with such laggy sites we have :D (can somebody teach me how to trade)

This is my take and my findings,

Volitility

Quick Surges, Low Spikes, we have seen it all, Steem was 4$ each, Bitcoins went through the roof in a month, first it was 1.5k:1btc then it got as high as 2.8k:1btc in the last days what can we learn from it, people want money and they will do anything possible, including buying at 2.2 and selling at 2.4 whatever it takes.

Philosophy

Low margins need high volume to make profits and it could be risky if you miss the spot, so the more you have on the line the
more you have to loose and the more the things you sohuldn't be concerned about start to creep in, what if the exchange buggs out? what if power goes out? well you can loose, loose a lot, more than you've gained, so don't take big risks, unless you want big drops

Hypes/Lows

After seeing BTC break barriers @1800 and again @2000 everybody got hyped, so much so people even heard of btc and started buying and buying, while we were selling and selling, so the bubble normalized, I would like to see which market bumped the price so much(Asia?) but whatever the case, wherever there is high demand and people are starving to sell, prices drop, so here we are, STEEM was 1.3 we were going to grow and grow, but since we are tied to BTC we have lost half of what we gained, because we were a part of the BTC Bubble, hey whoever saw the drop and bought some Fiat is on a roll, if BTC goes back up :) so just go with the flow and choose your stream little fishes

News/Stories

Again I'm going back to the Hype, I think it's bad but who asks me anyways, stories, hype, drama, emotion, all that causes volatility, expectations and demands, just don't be heartbroken if the idea you had of making millions backfires and you are back at square one, just remember where you started off at and you might make a long Journey otherwise, you will need more wisdom next time you start off.

History, Terms

Crypto seems known for Pump Dumps, I think all the above factors attest to that, coupled with how little is mapped out, the more you know the more it earns you, since the advantage you gain stacks against your "opponents" of course, trading is more a game than something real in my eyes, whenever you can make "money out of thin air" something blinks scam in my mind, but hey when you don't see the crying eyes and the loss you can't feel bad. I would like to have more people win, but that wouldn't be possible, since it comes at the cost of some-thing/body else so the best I can hope for is people that don't fall into "traps"

High-Mind and Swaps

Never run into "fights" Stand back and see which way the tide flows, everything is connected, there are patterns and you can move by them, when a price drops, you can move to some other place where it will rise, then you can be ready again with more "force" when the above-mentioned market starts moving back up again, so you can make more and more and more, thus allowing you to move into different markets, I wouldn't trust anybody since any collusion is unwelcome, :) or is it :) i think I'm colluding with you right now :D

Where I'm at now

~24.413 STEEM in BTC
plus 6.98 STEEM so 31,393 in Total STEEM

8.925 STEEM just as a bonus :) for registering and making some moves here and there :) it seems trading is a lot about strategy, position swaps, timing and resilience. Just as I was writing my BTC turned "Unknown Value" :D and I saw for a fracture how the Crypto can turn to a Void :) make sure you know how and where you move, stay as "balanced" as you can

Resilence, Spread and Zen :)

Know when things are about to happen and move :) I'm listing a great example below. Be smart, learn and adapt, overcome :) I'm going to give you some great articles and information below, I agree around 90% with all the people and my views on this topic are the same, so dear steemians, think with your head and vote with your money :) we are here for free and yet we have made so "much" I hope we can increase the smarts numbers :) it's never easy to cross a barrier, but it could be just a bubble :)

Call Me a Fool but I am Taking 50% of My Crypto Currency Profits and Exchanging for Dollars.

Why Not Sell Everything?
I am 100% playing with house money now. All of my original investments were taken out of the market over a year ago. If this continues to go up it is mana from heaven. If not, so be it. I will be on the other side of the peak waiting to buy Bitcoin and quality Crypto Currencies when they go on sale just like the folks who were in cash bought homes for pennies on the dollar when the real estate market crashed.
If I am wrong I win. If I am right I win. This is a great position to be in. Happy trading!

Great stuff. Thanks for the mention. Good to see you trading well.

Excellent post dear friend @ j3dy very interesting, thank you very much for sharing
have a beautiful day

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read through it :) I'm probably going to follow up on it, but if I have to be frank markets are confusing me at the moment :D

It's funny that I read your post on a red day. I agree that trading is 50% philosophical, 50% technical. Take all the emotion out of it. Sure, you can skate by with being 100% technical, but there's no exact science. You have to take the market sentiment into account. FX trading is very volatile and the same goes for cryptos. Best not to get too emotional about trading, positive or negative, if one wants to succeed.

oh please do go on :) keep flattering me :)

It's actually very simple. Buy low, Sell high!

:) yes but if you haven't done it like me and people start talking Fibonacci and supports you start wondering is it really that simple :)

I suppose I need to trade more and not stay watching silently :) I need some xp :D

You can't predict the market, it's chaotic. Yes, there are trends, and if you observe in depth how it works you will start to see patterns. But in reality no one knows what will happen in a week from now.
I'm also new to trading and the best advice I can give you is to invest time and don't sell anything until you are certain you are profiting already, not because you think some coin will be worth tomorrow more than it is today.
Pick some good projects you believe in like Steemit for example, get involved with the community, buy some coins and hold for the long term. Imagine you bought $1000 of bitcoin in 2009. You wouldn't need to trade any of it to be filthy rich today.
Another thing, never take advice on trading from anyone. Only you have responsibility to what you do with your money.

Exactly!

I think you've said it best and most of what I was alluring to or was thinking at the time when writing.

Crypto is still an infant and anything is a gift for me, one that I'm not banking on, it's fun and you can earn, while learning, that is good enough, free money is the next step :D

Great post. Trade safe. Keep learning. Keep it simple. Follow'd and stay in touch.

Thank you, I have to say greed gets to me :D and I want more, I know how people think, it seems nothing is ever enough, is one bad place to be in and nothing is ever worth anything, is the other. So yeah fear and greed move markets :|

Thank you for the follow :) I will post an update and give some not so convoluted and philosophical information next time :D some numbers, but I'm either getting better or just caught a good wave :D since my holdings have almost doubled. I'm kind of keeping steem as my "reserve currency" :D

Thank you for the short and simple message, I'm back to steeming so I have a lot to read through now that I've opened the trading topic :D

At first it was a challenge. I'm not the best and still learning. But I find the trading can be fun! Be well and see ya round.
