Isn't resteeming sort of plagiarism?steemCreated with Sketch.

I have been seeing a LOT of plagiarism on Steemit lately. No I don't think resteeming is plagiarism, but is it that far off?
I know people want to jump ahead and make money and rep by resteeming popular articles, but when everyone is doing it the feed becomes a chore to sift through.
In an effort to NOT clutter up the place any more, I have stopped resteeming others work.
It's out of respect for the creators and my followers.
I don't want to see Steemit get destroyed by spam.
This means I lose curation rewards, but all in all I am here for the long term and I'm not greedy.
I think this is better for the health and growth of the platform.
Let me know if you want to commit to this as well and we can try to start a trend here.

Not plagiarism but it's true it fills the feed with lots of content that may not be of your interest .... I think this is more a flaw of steemit (it doesn't filter content that is not of our interest) and also a sort of erroneous expectation of what steemit is (to me it is contrary to what facebook has done by enclosing us in bubbles of information where we see only what we may like according to their AIs). So it is some kind of problematic non-issue. I've also found it hard to go through my feed with lots of ugly resteems

Good comparison with facebook, maybe it's the lack of that 'bubble' or shell programming here but things get lost, I can't stay on top of feeds etc.
I signed up for a @papa-pepper contest thing and it just got buried.
We might just need a bunch of small steemit type sites based on general areas of interest to start filtering and growing bigger...

I have no problem with sharing (even copyrighted content) as long as you aren't explicitly or implicitly saying "I made this".

In other words, link back to the source and clearly say "This is from....". So people can go support the originator.

Resteeming actually brings readers back to the original article so it's fine. An upvote on a resteem goes to the creator.

If your feed is all GOOD resteems, that is valuable curation and deserves the followers.

If it's all bad, lazy resteems, u should eventually lose your followers or they won't engage your posts or comments (so they're useless)

Agreeing on what he said.

Thanks for your comment @daxed, I agree with you.

If its valuable Information worth sharing, why not share it with your followers ?

Thanks for commenting @callmechris, what you said is true.

No, it's not plagiarism. Steemit actually has a button for it just so we can.

It's not plagiarism because if you resteem someone else's article, you don't make any rewards off of it.

Resteeming is like free advertising. If someone resteems your article, then all of that person's followers might see it. If you resteem an article by someone else, it's sent to all of your followers. Resteeming helps to promote content that hopefully people think is good and important.

Thanks for your comment @doule, I thought we earned curation rewards for resteming maybe I am mistaken about that!..

You're welcome. No problem. I believe the curation rewards are for upvotes. But I just looked it up to be a little more sure and this post says too that there aren't rewards for resteeming. It just benefits us by us promoting each other's work.

Well I stand corrected, sir. Thanks for showing the way.
