Steemit Is My Business

There are so many great reasons to be on steemit. From being part of a community to being able to blog and write. Having the ability to earn cryptocurrency as a result of good reputation, well-written posts and commenting/UPvoting on others' posts.

While steemit would definitely NOT be classified as a 'get-rich-quick' place, it definitely has some great support systems and websites, an opportunity to showcase your work, life and blogging abilities and fairly easy to maneuver pages. While there are lot of tips and ideas that I, as well as many others, have expressed to the community and members. We just hope the steemit Gods are listening.

But that is not the topic of today's post. Today I want to share with newcomers the different websites that are offered to make your steemit experience easier and possibly to leave here with a better understanding of things.

I am by no means a steemit expert; heck, I barely classify myself as a novice, but I wanted to share with you some of the places I have found and how they have helped me understand the whole steemit adventure.

Treat Steemit As Your Business

Steemit does not tolerate plagiarism and copy/paste posts. If you do this, you will eventually be spotted/reported and @cheetah or @steemcleaners will come a knockin'. This allows your reputation to go down; NOT what you want if you are serious about making money and building a brand and following.

Of course we all know to get more visitors, UPvotes, resteems, comments, etc., you should be writing good quality posts, as well as having an open dialogue and communication with people who do comment on your post. I spend time writing my replies and comments and usually put some good thought into my words before I post, so when I have done that and the author of the original post never replies... well, it does tend to leave a 'sour' taste in my steemit experience. But I move on. No sense dwelling.

I also try to answer and reply to ALL that comment on my posts (with the exception of the 'drive-by' comments and follow me/you people). This Polish gal just can't do it.

I came into the steemit world about two months ago and had the main topics of my page being prepping, homesteading and gardening. But I have a vast array of interests that I never really recognized until I started writing and blogging here. I have expanded my posts to include recipes, crafts/DIY, a review every now and then and even posting about what I have learned as a lowly 'red fish' on steemit. As I said, I am not anywhere near being a steemit expert, but sometimes people can learn just as much from another "newcomer's" trial and error as they can from reading a more experienced steemit veteran.

I have my main topics/brand which is gardening, herbs and homesteading but it's nice some days to have alternate topics to discuss. Plus this opens the door to more members that I may have never found otherwise.

Different Websites/Links To Help With Steemit Experience

eSteem app- this is a great app and I have been using it since almost day one. Just look in your app store for the download.

steem supply where you can see when you pay-outs will be coming and the amounts. It also shows you your account value. A great website resource. To access your account just type in http://steem.supply/@yourname

steem now/ another good site to see who has UPvoted you, curation and author rewards and more. On the upper right hand corner where it says settings, just type in your name.

Steemdb tells you what your voting power is, a 30-day account history and your vests. Again just type in this in the url https://steemdb.com/@yourname

Steemit Follower a place for newer members to find others to follow. It's a condensed version of what you would see in the 'new' tab. You see members you may have never come across in the regular feed.

I keep these open on my laptop and will refer to them frequently throughout the day.

Join A Community and Discord Groups: Utilize Steemit Chat Too

Steemit Chat is right on your main page. Upper right hand corner, open bars and find chat. Great place and has so many channels to join. Find your interest and join.

Slack- these are chatrooms for members of steem. I belong to a few and they are great for interacting and finding other members with similar sinterests.

Discord- yet another chat area, usually by invite only so keep your eye out for these.

I try and connect with all these throughout the day, but when life happens, it can be difficult. But you should check them all out.

Some Members To Follow

Here is a list of members that I follow and try to check in on everyday

There are SO MANY great bots to follow as well as other members, you will start your own list. I know I missed a few but this should get you started.

Happy Steemin' Everyone

Thank you for sharing this! I have been here a while but I really didn't know about any of this.

these are just some of the things I have picked up along the way. I know I missed some but I can always do another post.
I keep a folder and notepad with my laptop and as I come across things, members and websites, I add to my notepad. Great resource!

Yay, what a great post. I sure wish I had real something like this when I first showed up. It would have made things a lot easier, that's for sure.

Thanks for the tips, I'm new here and want to learn more.
