Hi Friends,

Exciting news for Minnows in the Steemitsphere. @timcliff released a brand new article highlighting new changes to the Steemit platform

Cliff wanted to clarify that Nothing is 100% for certain, "The hardfork is not resetting the reward pool." He went on to say that the next hard fork plans a switch over to a linear rewards system where SteemPower effects accounts linearly instead of exponentially. This likely means more power to the minnows!

Cliff continued "Potential payouts will change. Most likely what we will see ... is that posts that have received a lot of larger votes will likely go down in value, and posts with lots of smaller/medium sized votes will likely go up in value.

"Casual users (who vote less than 40 times per day) are going to get additional influence, as they will be able to consume all of their voting power in 10 votes per day."

Minnow's Takeaway: "New users want to feel empowered and that they can increase their influence on the site by buying/earning more SP. This is key for growth." - @timcliff

Let's go minnows! Big times ahead with HF-19 - just keep creating great content for the community and wait for the linear rewards to come in bunches!

Exactly - all of these things make Steemit an awesome community and ensure its continued growth as the greatest social media network!

They've actually had a similar structure to this before.

It's funny because I suggested "supervotes" like a year ago.

Yeah pretty good :) Thanks @jimmyrai28

wazup. Just touching base here. I'll stay posted

And all of your last posts hit 50 votes, your doing something right now, or just picking up steem. Either way, keep it up!

Thanks @drpuffnstuff I'm feeling the love for sure.

Ive heard mixed reviews of what it is going to do, but in essence its a good idea.. Aggroed wants to increase the votes per day so the whales will have to pick new people to vote on.. But who knows. I only know its just going to get better and better! I like spreading my voting power around, a little to much probably. I'm always running out of voting power.. so 10 posts a day would be hard. so many more than 10 deserve to be upvoted!

Giving people with money exponentially more power is the system we're trying to get away from. A linear scale shows the intent to keep things more fair. There are definite losers on steemit with HF19, but the resounding reply we're getting from Steemit is they're supporting their user base, and I'm for that.

I agree, I want to get away from that as well. I just hope it doesn't end up being 10 whales voting 10 super votes for each other every day.. If they had to vote 50 or 60 times to give the same amount of money out wouldn't it be spread out more even? Instead we are going from 20 or 30 votes a day to 10 right? But I'm all for them taking away the three-fold whale vote power that exists! I hope whatever happens is good and doesn't need to be fixed, can't be a whole lot worse than it is now regardless! Steemit can only get better from here!

I find your post educative. I will encourage you to be elaborate next time. Great article

Awesome news!

Read Tim's article couple of hours ago... (and there's one more written by Liberorist that's worth a read: https://steemit.com/steem/@liberosist/post-hardfork-19-whale-vs-current-whale-visualized)

Kinda excited dude! xD

Feeling like those White Walkers...

Thanks for that. When you say minnows only get 10 votes per day, what do you mean? Are you referring to the fact that vote power only increases by 20% in a 24 hr period? It would be great if you could clarify. Thanks
