Why Steemit SUCKS

in #steemit7 years ago

Hi,

I just signed up for Steemit, and here's why it absolutely sucks: you can't convert the currency to US dollars, and the Peerhub site where you can spend the currency is absolutlely atrocious. Did you even see the types of things they're offering? Cheesecake?!? I don't want cheesecake. I want enough currency to buy a damn car! The creator of this social platform should be shot. Thank you!

Hi, it seems you have a lot to learn about this community and how it works! You DO can convert steem trough an exchange in to Bitcoin, litcoin or ethereum and these coins are easy to sell in to Fiat(€$¥£)! So don't give up, read, learn, enjoy and... Write! Make some good posts, don't give up! You still are an early adopter!

Thank you for the clarification. Im 3 days new and dont understand it all. Honestly the money aspect hasnt entered in until now. Still have nothing and ok with it :) but will look into the bitcoin.
Cheers

Yes, take your time, as there is so much to learn! This community is filled with friendly and helpful people!

Ive noticed that more than anything. Happy to have found it forsure and ty for the response. :)
Happy steeming

I would encourage a little bit of patience. If it were easy everyone would be rich and that's not realistic and also -- there's no free lunch in life. Being an early adopter has its huge rewards but it's not just sitting there for the taking.

dude, please allow me to chill you out.
Steem is a cryptocurrency that you can trade on several exchanges for other cryptocurrencies.
You can also hold it as an investment safely on this site because your password to your account is different than your private key and your account is recoverable if hacked.
I first bought steem at like 16 cents just a few short months ago, I am new here too and just joined before i understood it, i like it more and more each day.
Even without the crypto-angle, there are good people here with good and big ideas.
i have bought art from another steem user, I have used the profits from my steem to trade and used a lot of knowlege and info I got here to make those trades and have made more cryptocurrency, and I have learned a lot.
If you want a car, that's more than within reach.
you can also use sites like shapeshift to trade steem for BTC or LTC or something easier to convert to USD but if you stick around a while and read up, you wont even want to. Good luck. Stay up, Hope you get a lambo someday.

raddog, love your info! Rock on. Following you.

What you doin in here if you dont like it?

It's a bit of a learning curve if you've never done it, but Steem can easily be converted to cash. You just have to do the research, and once you've done it, you'll always know how to do it. I just cashed out enough to pay my car insurance today.

You have to exchange Steem for Bitcoin (though I hear others exchange it for Ethereum or Litecoin). I do this on BlockTrades.us. You then send the Bitcoin to a place where you can sell it. I use CoinBase.com. Once you transfer the Bitcoin to Coinbase, you can have the cash equivalent sent as a direct deposit to your bank account.

It's real money.

STEEMIT = DARK MIRROR ?
STEEMIT = PONZI SCHEME ?
