RE: Improving Your Chances of Being Noticed & Getting Upvotes

in #steemit6 years ago

Thank you for the tips @alphasteem. So many cool videos. I can see a lot of time and effort is required! I've only recently been more active on steemit since I was asked to be a food blog mentor so I figured I should make more effort if I have to set an example! I put a lot of effort into my wrting and photos, but I think I need to move on to videos but I hate seeing myself on video! How do I get over this fear?!

Lol! Thats what ive been thinking myself @foodflaneur:) you dont have to start with having yourself on video. Maybe start by showing on video the step by step process of preparing the food. (Filming only the food)Get used to it and then dive in with a video with yourself as well. Ill probably start videos soon as well. I already got t a few recomendations from steemers on some simple video editors ill chrck out soon :)
Hope it helps!
Good luck🤗

hey @cooknbake! Your right, you don't have to have yourself on the videos. I do however highly recommend to everyone to do an dtube intro video with yourself on the video just to let everyone know who you are and the whole dtube community. Other than that your blogs are amazing so I know your videos will do good too! Can't wait to see.

Thanks for that luv! and the dtube intro video - is a good idea to start with @alphasteem! I just hate seeing myself on video- ha ha ! feels weird talking to "myself"! I guess you get used to it though once you jump in . But itll happen :) I really want to start vlogging!

Thank you @cooknbake, really good advice about weaning myself onto videos! :-)

@foodflaneur - looking forward to see your 1st video! 😀 :))

I’ll keep you posted ;-)

hey @foodflaneur. I did some blog posts early in my steemit journey and really wasn't able to get much going on them, so I went to dtube and I enjoy doing video more than blog posts either way. I know how much effort goes into blog posts, also a lot of effort goes into videos and editing but I like it more and got rewarded more. With the fear thing, I can't say I'm completely over it either. What I will say is that I am my harshest critic, I notice all my expressions or weird habits that I do during the video but others really don't notice that and they appreciate the videos, so that is one way I can get over the fear, also practice. For dtube I really really recommend doing an intro video, doesn't even have to be about food just simple and explain what type of videos you will be posting just so the dtube community will get to know you. Hope this helps, also gave you a follow 😀 hope to see a vid one day.

Thank you so much @alphasteem :-) You’ve given me the courage and inspiration to do an introduction video now! Well not right now, but definitely soon! I love how you’re so chilled out in yours, I hope I can get to that level! Do you have any tips on how to make a good video about food? Like what do you pay attention to in yours to make them so appealing and clear? Also I noticed that there is dtube and dlive- what is the difference?! Sorry, I’m so bad with the internet and technology- everyone I know is shocked I even have a blog!
