Steemit Tips # 2 - Blog Post Ideas For Busy Bloggers

The cursor sits there blinking expectantly, like a slightly miffed child waiting for a ride to school. BLINK - BLINK - BLINK slyly winking in and out like the vertical eye of some digital Cyclops. Blogging is our passion, yet for some strange reason, those promising post ideas, seem to burn away like the morning fog.

Believe me, we've all been there. One overarching question keeps pushing and shoving it's way to the front of your mind-head: What in the hell do I write about? Life, kids and work all seem to compete for the scarce time available to be a better blogger.

Write about what you love

Two of the things I enjoy are: reading an entertaining, informative blog and writing engaging content. Centering self, my open eyelids swung down like an automatic window shade shutting out all distractions. Taking slow, steady breaths - allowed me to just be in the moment. Next thing you know: BINGO! Like a screaming fast download - from that great iCloud in the sky - this post idea just came to me.

When you throw out stress like yesterday’s trash, amazing things begin to happen. Taking out the "mental garbage" provides that reboot we all need from time to time. Since I love to write, why not blog about creative options to start writing that next great post? A negative, suddenly turns into a positive.

Blog your day

On a recent trip to a retail store, my "post radar" was activated by some items I passed by on an end-cap. Backing up, there, out in the open were stacked - I'll just call them "toys for adults" right. The minute I saw them, you'd better believe I would find a way to work that into a blog post, like I just did. Anything out of the ordinary that catches your eye, can be woven into your blogging life.

With the advent of the iPhone in 2007, almost everyone now has a decent camera sitting in their pocket. Taking some quick shots of a beloved pet, or playful child, can spark that one fun pic that will be the basis for your next post. A walk through the park, your morning run, or a delicious meal at your favorite restaurant, can start a conversation with your followers. Each new day is filled with opportunities to share the life around us.

Solve a problem

Everyone has a skillset that they can call on in times of need. Maybe you're a great auto mechanic, or computer geek and you can write problem-solving posts providing real value to your audience. What are you good at? offer your expertise to others, and you'll always have something to blog about.

Walk away when necessary...

Never write under stress. This is supposed to be fun! My blogging recipe is this: I type out a paragraph or so, and when I run out of STEEM, I simply walk away and take a relaxing, refreshing break. A quick power-nap, can work wonders in jump-starting your creative juices. Remember: You're in control. Pace yourself, before you break yourself!
