STEEM REPORT SEPTEMBER, 4TH

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

SteemPower increase is gradually falling. Author Rewards will be paid as Steem instead of Steem Dollars.

I was  wondering the last days why i get less and less interest on my Steem Power, yesterday i read an article from user @me-tarzan about this Topic he published 3 days ago. You can read the full article here. He said:

After studying this spreadsheet you can see that the rate of SteemPower increase is gradually falling . The rate of increase per day started at 0.69% on 8 / 2 / 2016 and on 9 / 1 / 2016 is at 0.58% . This rate per day will continue to fall proportionately until it stabilizes some where around 0.176% to 0.25% per day . That should happen come April 2017 .

I finished to read his article, but now i am even more confused. When i started with Steemit, i was impressed about the daily interest rate, thats why i invest in the first place. So can anyone enlighten me whats going on?

Update:

I just talked to @pharesim, because i really like to know how this works.

Thats what he said ( in german ):

@pharesim: 90% aller erzeugten Steem gehen an SP holder. Je mehr Steem in SP, desto weniger erhält der Einzelne.

@elyaque: Das heisst wenn keine Liquidität auf dem Markt ist sinkt die tägliche Rate, richtig?

@pharesim: Ja.

Here the translation:

@pharesim: 90% of all created STEEM are distributed to SP holder. The more Steem hold in SP, the less STEEM are distributed to each holder.

@elyaque: That means if there is no market liquidity, the daily rate drops, right?

@pharesim: Yes.

Conclusion: The rate is variable , so it not a fixed rate which is gradually falling.

Thanks @Pharesim for explaining this to us.

The next Topic i like to discuss today is from user @hisnameisolllie, he said:

Steem Dollar Stability: When Steem Dollars hit's 2% of Market Cap (we are currently at 1.92%), Author Rewards will be paid as Steem instead of Steem Dollars. This will reduce/limit the debt burden on the Steemit system which a number of users have been concerned about.

You can read his full article here. Is this a good or a bad thing? Anyone?

Update: This question finally has been answered: @hisnameisolllie wrote a Post about it :)

It's not responsible to report about this account without also providing a link to the wallet. I think if the account is powering down, or if the account is not blogging or curating, this makes a big difference in steem power growth rate, but you have to provide a link to the wallet, taking your word for it is not what steemit is all about, it is about decentralized transparency

Like i mentioned this is an article from another user, i dont have access to this account, but i realized that I get less and less interest too. At the beginning i had more than 1% a day without doing nothing, over time i getting less and less. Other users tell me the same. Anyone can confirm he experienced the same?

Here is the answer:
"Because Steem wants to encourage long-term growth, it is hardwired to allocate 9 STEEM to Steem Power (SP) stakeholders for every 1 STEEM it creates to fund growth through contribution incentives. Over time this drives the ratio of the total STEEM value of Steem Power balances to the total of STEEM balances toward 9:1 . "

Thanks to be so patient with me. I will read this part of the white paper and try to understand it. Thanks again

Ok, thanks for the info. So the ratio will be 9:1. So what it is now? Or does the interest rate simply going down because you have to split this to more users every day? Still not clear about this point....

100/1000 is bigger than 100/ 10000. As the system grows, the inflation % gets smaller.

Sorry to be such an ignorant, but i still dont get it a 100%. Here is the original text from the whitepaper:

...as the system grows, the inflation % gets smaller...

and how this explain that the interest rate goes lower and lower?

You can read more about the inflation from the same white paper starting page 35. Inflation % should be equal to interest rate.

@elyaque, after reading your comments. Your desire to learn and understand steemit gets an upvote alone. (plus the explanations also help me) The data you provide is just a bonus.

Just realized I'm not following you....I am now!

Thanks, man! Just talked to Pharesim to understand it. He expalined it very well to me in german. So i ask a friend of mine to translate it in perfect english, because i am not a native speaker, i will update my post later. Thanks for the follow, i follow you now too :)

Awesome Man! Chatting it up with Pharesim, look at you going steemit big time :-)

Look forward to the english explanation as my german goes as far as the 20 minutes I passed through germany while driving to Switzerland. Much appreciated.

Cool, thanks for the additional info. Makes sense.

So finally both question found his answers :) I wish you a nice sunday.

hab die ganze zeit gewartet -:)

Morgen Achim, oder besser gesagt mittag , bei Dir :)

Moin Moin! Jetzt verstehe warum die Ausbeute war mager

"I was wondering the last days why i get less and less interest on my Steem Power"

It is concerning that user activity and posting is dropping off especially as user numbers continue to grow. I am not sure about this change to STEEM dollars what will the the effect be?

Yeah Stephen you are not the only one who is worried about it, doesnt look that good at the moment....
Well the other Stuff about the Steem dollar i dont know, thats why i asked it, maybe someone knows the answer...
Thanks for your opinion.

Thanks! Its a daily Report so follow me, that you dont miss one :)

Maybe we should just blame ECB, SNB, BOJ, and SRB for negative interest rates.

Hahahaha , yeah looking on the bright side, with 0,25% a day its still close to a 100% a year :)

Intesting, where you get these statistics from? I would love to run a few forecast models on those stats. Let me know if you know their source. Good job!

Sources are: stemmd.com, steemle.com ,coinmarketcap.com ,steemstory.com ,steemchart.com, worldcoinindex.com. i put them all together by hand an present it. I need about 30 min.everyday to do this.
So its all manual work, its not on automatic :) But you can use all the older reports to do a forecast :)

Thank you, i will run some analysis on them, and mention you in my article.

Cool , let me know :) Thanks means a lot to me to keep up the work, at the moment i am a bit pisses about the flags from my Report today, would be nice if you can comment it.
