What It Takes To Be A Whale

In my quest to know and find out what makes a whale on Steemit; i discovered some few things about whales. Today am going to be sharing it here with all Steemians.

I would assume everyone reading this post is a member of the Steemit community and if not Sign up with us quickly without further hesitation.

First of all, you need to get yourself a good amount of Steem based on your financial capacity as a Steemian. The easiest way to do this is by buying Bitcoin and exchanging to Steem and send to your account. You can also buy Steem directly with credit card with just a little higher price but instant from 'Changelly'.

What next...

After getting your Steem what you do next is get some Steem power through a process called power up.

What is Steem Power?
Steem power is your Steeming ability. It gives you good influence on your post(as an Author) and that of others (as a curator). The rule here is the more your Steem power, the more your ability to influence post and make more money.
So the key here is to focus on increasing your Steem power. This is an important aspect especially for those aspiring to be a whale on Steemit. If you have been on Steemit for probably a month or two you must have seen some post with massive Upvotes and huge payouts in hundreds nd thousands of dollars the owners of those post are called 'Whales'

Who is a Whale?
Literally, a Whale is a very huge,gargantuan sea mammal. But on Steemit, Whales are a bunch of wealthy Steemians who due to their Steem power or upvoting strength have a big stake and great influence on Steemit platform.

Let's move quickly...

Another thing to do to achieve your set goals on steemit is to 'Start upvoting' . This can be done automatically or manually. You either go for autovoting which can be done by using some steembots i.e http://steemvoter.com there you can add users you want the bot to automatically upvote whenever they launch posts, times and amount of your power. This will not only make this people earn more from you but it will also let you earn as a curator( a person who choose post or content that will be popular before it is popular). My advise is choose people you like or people with huge payouts. I hope you like me too smiles . You may also want to do it manually, that way you can decide what post or who is worth your upvote .

Next in line is 'Follow Popular Vote Tracks' i.e http://steemian.com allows you to follow manual votes of people who you think vote on good stuffs. Or you can go for other popular G's like @rusteemitblog @charlieshrem or @instructor2121. Then even when you are ofline your account can follow good curators and you still get paid. Most Whales use Autoupvote bot which is a great addition especially to self-chosen author.

More also, 'Generate Content' . This is one of the important aspect of Steemit. Writing should be taken seriously, make sure you write something that interest you or your Topic of interest. This gives your post genuinety and uniqueness. Do not copy-paste other people's post to avoid being flagged. There's also a space for tag just below the content box. There cannot be more than 5tags on a post but i will advice only use four tags. Make sure you always tag your post to attract more viewers.

And lastly, 'Promote Your Post' . most steemians especially newbies think they need lots of dollars to promote their post but this is not necessarily true. After writing your post, it is good to create awareness on your post and let people know about it. A simple approach to this is using http://steemit.chat after opening login and send your post to i.e http://steemit.chat/channel/postpromotion and other related channels. Just make sure you follow the rules of every channel. Another way to promote your post and let others see it is by using some steemitbot like @resteembot @originalworks @minnowpond @minnowpond1 @reblogger . The above are good for promotions and are absolutely free except for resteembot that takes some cents which is based on your reputation on steemit.

There are also other paid promotions like @bellyrub @booster @minnowbooster and the likes.

You can also hit the promote button by the right corner of every post which will take your post to the pronotion section and makes it visible more viewers i.e Whales. This increases your chances of getting upvoted if your post is real and germain.
