Small STEEM Blockchain Glitches, Hivemind Testing In Process?

in #steemit6 years ago

I just noticed a few minor glitches on the way Steemit.com displays some parts of the data. For instance, some of the wallet information might be presented inaccurately (I mean the amount in your wallet) while the list of transactions seems to be delayed with about 10 days.

I tried the same on busy.org and it shows a similar delay of about 9 days.

I remember that @roadscape said something in the Hivemind update about installing it first on Steemit.com. Here's the actual passage:

Once stable, condenser (powering steemit.com) will be switched over to the new hive endpoints; if everything is integrated properly, users will not notice a thing. It’s akin to upgrading an airplane engine mid-flight while making sure there are no hiccups and all controls work as usual.

If that's the reason behind those glitches, then let's trust the pilots, shall we? :)

Steem on!

Wanna know when you're getting paid?

I know the feeling. That's why I created steem.supply, an easy to use and accurate tool for calculating your Steemit rewards

It's free to use, but if you think this is a useful addition, I'd appreciate your witness vote.

Thank you!

I believe they are testing appbase changes, not hivemind changes. This has been causing a few issues on the api.steemit.com node over the past couple of weeks, for example it has only been returning the last 30 days of account history and the witnessUpdate() method in the Python and JS SDKs is not working since it is now expecting the new NAI format for the "reg_fee" parameter.

I know the SteemIt team is aware and working on all the issues, including probably also the one you are seeing, but I believe these issues are from Appbase testing right now. I'm sure we'll see a bunch of new ones in the near future once Hivemind goes into testing :-)

Many thanks for bringing this to my attention. Seems like I need to update myself with Appbase too. I feel outdated for using a technology which is already older than one year: )

Also steemd.com is failing or showing old status, sometimes older than 24h ago...
Seems @roadscape is working hard, yes

I wouldn't call it 'small glitches'... It's a bit scary. You cannot review your previous transactions (mostly financial transactions, not the posts and comments). I just checked the bottracker, I think it causes quite a big mess.

Yeah, that's why I concluded it's about Hivemind, as Hivemind doesn't deal with transactions, only content. So it looks like the hivemind endpoints are working ok, while the replaying on the whole blockchain data takes a bit longer. Let's not freak out if we don't have enough reasons.

Just yet.

The parrot in the mouth of a cat said that: It hasn't eaten me yet... :-D

Hello @dragosroua, the question I want to ask is unrelated to this. I undelegated some Steempower from some user about 10 days ago up till now, the Steempower have not been returned to my account, what could be the issue.

Probably the transaction by which you undelegated wasn't broadcasted. You can verify how much delegated Steem Power you have by using @jesta Vessel app. You will be able to see if you still have that SP delegated and you can undelegate from within Vessel agin.

Please what's the link to the vessel tool or is it an app I have to get from play store? Thank you.

even the feed in Steemnow.com is glitched no matter what api you choose but yeah let us let them do the upgrade in midflight as someone had said so eloquently haha

This is a good thing in the long run.

I've noticed for a while now that a lot of data seems to be missing @dragosroua. I was thinking it was a permanent change. I'd prefer it to be a glitch as I couldn't see, for example, curation rewards older than seven days.

This morning, however, I can't see any curation rewards at all! 😊

I notice that as well and it's for a while already... as well if you pay atention one point at the top you will see that the reputation level will show 25 and there will be nothing from the settings... but after few secounds goes back to normal.
Like you said let's trust the pilots and Steem On!

I hadn't noticed it so much a couple of days ago, but as I'm writing this, things are as you've described.

The wallet page simply hangs up when you go to redeem rewards, and the amounts of STEEM/SP/SBD and USD keep changing, but not to what they should be. I've decided to keep a paper record for the moment.

Of all the Steemit pages I want to be performing correctly always, the wallet page is the one. I'm okay, though, knowing it's hivemind or the appbase changes and not some kind of attack or hack.

Very true, i was just discussing this as well, thanks for the link, ive gone through it, now i can sit back and relax

YES I noticed the glitch too! It showed my SP as about 30% less than it should be until I refreshed and it corrected. Very weird stuff.
