Mixed feelings on Steemit as a social media platform...
This is an update to my earlier rant on Steemit as a social media platform. While it's nice that users can be compensated in some way for their activity here, I'm disappointed that "unpopular" activity isn't rewarded in any significant way. It's also possible to "buy" your way to financial success on Steemit. Overall, users' behavior seems to be heavily influenced by the Steem business model, which appears to incentivize pandering - going around and upvoting every post you see. I'll put my "screw you guys, I'm outta here" on hold for now though. Perhaps I can "be the world I want to see" and influence this community in a direction that promotes freedom of expression. At least until something better comes along.
Hang in here. Connect with other steemians that's what we are trying to do over here at #eastcoaststeem
