Google Trend: Steemit, Twitter, Facebook Popularity Decline

People now are busy talking about crypto currency price's decline. They are right. The price of almost all crypto currencies have been falling, including Steem and SBD. But now I want to see Steemit as social media.

Right. Lets talk about social media. So we have to see some popular ones, especially Facebook and Twitter. They are two major social media right now.

I have written about Steemit popularity four days ago. You can read: Google Trend: Steemit Search Popularity Still Low, Chinese Users Jump into High Position. Yes, Steemit popularity has been falling. How about other media social? Are they still popular? The answer is NO.

I use Google Trend tool to inspect their popularities. Google Trend describes what people search in Google Search. It is important for Steemit because 28.70% of its visitors come from search engine and Google.com is number one in top list.

I compare three keywords: Steemit, Facebook, and Twitter. Here is the result.

Decline or Stable

Google Trend shows that popularity of both Steemit and Facebook has declined in the past 12 months. Twitter is stable. But Facebook is still dominant among this three social media. Facebook is still in top position until 25 Juni-1 Juli 2017 period. When Twiter and Steemit still in under 25 interest, Facebook stays in 60-100 interest.

Facebook Popularity Down

Facebook popularity actually has been suffering since 25 Juni-1 Juli 2017 period. It is consistently with The Pew Research Center's conclusion: three years ago Facebook was the most popular social network among teens but now only half of them use it (US News, 31 May 2018).

Facebook has reached the top of popularity (100 interest) in 25 Juni-1 Juli 2017 period and declined gradually untill 17-23 June 2018 period. It lost 33% interest and now stays in 68 interest position.

Twitter Stable

Twitter popularity is stable. The microblogging that is launched in July 2006 stays in around 85-100 interest position since 17-23 June 2018 period. It is good news. Internet users are still interested with Twitter this year.

Steemit Decline

As I wrote before, Steemit popularity has declined since 28 May-3 June 2017 periode, risen a little in 6-12 May, and fallen again in 20-26 May. Steemit popularity in 10-16 June period is lower than 20-26 May.

Conclusion

Google Trend shows that people is still interested with this three social media. Facebook is still major keyword, followed by Twitter and Steemit.

But Steemit position is too low. @ned, @teamsteemit, @utopian-io, @timcliff, @guiltyparties, and other witnesses should think hard to create a new streategy to reach all people around the world.
