• The number of upvotes your post receives.
• The Steem Power of the voters.

What are Steemit Backed Dollars?

On Steemit, there are three types of crypto currencies:

1. Steem, the crypto currency of the Steem Blockchain on which Steemit is built.
2. Steem Backed Dollars(SBD) is a crypto currency which is backed pegged to the Dollar. 1 SBD ≈ 1 USD.
3. Steem Power(SP) is the amount of influence you have on the network. The more you are, the more money your upvotes will provide and the more rewards you will also earn on your posts, comments and resteems.

How do I trade my Steem or Steem Backed Dollars for Bitcoins or cash?

All you have to do is use an exchange such as Shapeshift or Bittrex to cash your Steem or Steem Backed Dollars.

What should I know about blogging on Steemit?

• Steemit is not a scam, it’s a Blockchain based blogging platform.
• Your first post should have its first tag as "introduceyourself” - without the quotation tags. This way people can find you as a newbie.
• You can make real money from every single post you publish.
• You cannot delete any post you post to Steemit, since it’s permanently stored on the Steem Blockchain. You can edit a post and replace its content with blank content, however all original and edits of the post will be stored on the Steem Blockchain.
• You can promote your posts using the promote button at the bottom of your posts.
• Be careful when posting content from somewhere else in a copy and past fashion. Your posts are forever stored on the Blockchain and copyright laws could put you in trouble.
• Immediately after getting your Steemit account proved, you should visit www.steemit.chat to register an account using your Steemit username. This is very important as anyone could use your Steemit username if you do not claim it on Steemit.chat!
