What are your goals on Steemit? Setting goals=success and im slowly reaching some of mine

in #steemit7 years ago

Ask any successful person and they will tell you setting goals is one of the most important things you can do. Not just saying "i want to be rich" or "i want to own a lambo" or whatever your end goal may be, but rather setting small achievable measurable goals.

When i first started here i loved the idea of Steemit and decided if i wanted to be successful here i would need to set some goals, they are as follows.

Followers

100 [x]
200 [x]
300 [x]
500 [x]
1,000 [ ]
2,000 [ ]
5,000 [ ]

Slowly but surely i'm getting there with followers, sitting around 530 at the moment my next goal is a bigger step than the last few but actively trying to get there.

Steem power

2,00 [x]
5,00 [x]
1,000 [ ]
5,000 [ ]
10,000 [ ]
50,000 [ ]
100,000[ ]

I finally got me a slider bar :P that was one of the things I've been chasing for a little while now and it has finally happened so pretty stoked with that.

Setting small achievable goals is a must for staying motivated, it makes you feel like you've accomplished something and even giving yourself a small reward at particular milestones can help train yourself, just don't get too carried away with the rewards and always make sure the goal is something within reach but not something too easy. You need to be challenged by yourself and constantly proving to yourself you can do it and you will do it.

The best part about Steemit is how measurable your goals are, you can see so clearly when you're improving and adapting and when you've reached certain milestones which definitely helps with the motivation aspect, but aside from that you also need to be motivated by other things like, what do you want from Steemit?
I want to get to the point where i can use steemit to generate enough income that i don't need to be working full time, many people here are using Steemit and crypto as their source of income and that's what im hoping to do one day too.

Just imagine sitting on a beach somewhere blogging and trading on your laptop, sipping on some exotic cocktail.

Steem on Steemians

Sort:

Having goals is good, even small ones. I like your plan but it would take me far longer to reach it as I have other things going on in my life. having said that i am determined to invest in Steemit by working at it as often as I can, rather like stealth. I set myself goals outside of Steemit as well, and as I accomplish one thing, move on to the next and feel really good that I achieved something. I plan to do videos but that's maybe for next year. I am not as dedicated as I don't see Steemit as a kind of business as I'm not used to doing things that way, but I'm getting there and as long as I post good stuff, one or two will follow and if i attract the good people that's all I worry about for now. I like the way you think and as I follow you I can see you reaching your goals, that's great too. Happy Steeming!

Nice post man, I will make sure to give you a follow.
My goals on here are to build my gaming channel up, lets start with say 50 followers. I want to upload at least once a day (videos), and post things multiple times a day.
Another goal for me is to support numerous people on steemit as well. Not only to get their support but to help them grow too.
thanks man and keep it up!

oo i like gaming :P what do you play? like streaming or more analyzing new games and reviewing etc?
posting once a day is good, even up to 2-3 times a day but be careful posting too often if you fill your followers feeds with stuff they may unfollow you. that being said true fans will stick around :P

I play a lot of FPS, Player Unknowns Battlegrounds, Escape from Tarkov, Miscreated, etc.
I do stream sometimes but not often, Ill more or less make content about my gameplay in the games. Just random encounters and good or bad games lol and thanks for the advice man. =]

ahhh, my pc is shit so i mostly play Leaue of legends haha, ill follow you though, i do enjoy a good gaming sesh

Oh dang man, Yeah I wouldn't recommend playing PUBG or EFT on a crap computer lol my computer is pretty good but I still get lag on those games. haha
I wouldn't say my content is the best right now, but I'm working on making it better. Hopefully getting a better microphone soon, as of right now my audio quality is pretty crap. lol

Agree to disagree 💜

what do you disagree on? lol

Money giving happiness. But let's leave it there. Great post 😋

i never said in this post money would bring happiness lol

Yay for achieving some of your goals, other ones looking more achievable now? :D

When I finally got around to getting on here (I tend to dislike signing up new accounts on anything unless I'm fairly sure I'm going to be using it for a while) I didn't really have much goal past "well let's see what I can do here then". And I still don't have much past that XD Oh I suppose there is one of "save enough cryptocurrency for cryptocats" but that's about it :)

I do have a much loftier goal of being the primary income earner so my partner can retire and take on all the extra stuff that I'm doing so I can concentrate on doing what I do but there's so much catch-22 involved in that it's not even funny XD and still doesn't stop me from trying anyway because I am nothing if not stubborn

Yay for the slider bar too, I lost mine again (because I decided to just go ahead and do the last two delegations I wanted to do, see this is why I don't trade, I can't maths! XD) so have been having to hop between sites :)

goatsig

I didn't have any goals when i first signed up either i was like oh i can make money from posting my bs opinions, im down haha.
but then i realised people take it seriously here and that with some work you really can make a decent income so i figured set some goals and see what happens, if in 6-12 months i havent reached the ones ive set in my mind ill probably just trade out of steemit for another crypto but we shall see, i do enjoy the community.
