Looking into another man's walletsteemCreated with Sketch.

When stop a total stranger on the steet grab his wallet and have a look how much money is in it.

Yes, then your nose soon may be bleeding.

But here on steemit it is just a normal thing?

And it is even worse! On the street it is just one person and you can see who it is.

I want to know:

Who was looking in my wallet
What his reason was
Where he is from, his location his occupation
When he was looking
Why he was looking

So that when i get a phishing link, or something worse that I can investigate.

But our privacy law states that all data that can be used to idenify a person should never be visible to anyone. every transaction is PRIVACY as people can be identified based on transactions.

So there you have it.

STEEMIT IS BREAKING THE LAW.

Close that wallet NOW.
And even with a closed wallet, if someone for what ever reason still needs to look in my wallet I STILL want to know, who, what, where, when and why.

My data is MINE. It can never be someone else's data is it is data that is ABOUT ME, right?

Agreed, and yet another part of steemit I have ever understood, a bit like SBD, what is the point of it?.

Morgan-istic thinking? Never make things simple if you want to swindle people. Make things overcomplicated and difficult so that you can siphon off money on all sides and do away with it by calling it a bug that needs to get fixed... Oops no big deal, we routed money into our friends pockets and you payed for it. Nothing to see here.... everyone all or millions of users lost only one steem today, no big deal.

something like that?

He who will make an alternative that is Secure simple and respects privacy will OWN the future.
Who that will be I don't know.

O and SBD is to lock us into Federal US dollar based on thin air... If the US economy goes tits-up then we are all screwed because Steemit did failed to link the currency to a tangible material that holds real value.

vHe who will make an alternative that is Secure simple and respects privacy will OWN the future.
Who that will be I don't know.

Shhhh I am all over that, and on the case bro.

I hope i'm still online when this happens.

What's going down bro? I have room here if you need a get away.

I first need to find a way not to loose my house

Bankers will be bankers eh!

yes, though the bigger problem is the local politicians / neo-liberal-fascist-minded-wir-haben-es-nicht-gewusst-es-war-ein-befehl-robots

Let me just start off by saying that I'm not really arguing against your overall opinion here. I completely understand your argument in your post and why you are saying it. However, we also need to remember the principle behind why the blockchain was built in this way. The reasoning behind having an open wallet, is so that is creates an atmosphere of openness and trust. In other words, by having access to other users wallets and transactions, it is supposedly creating a feeling of closer user interaction and a basis for why you want to transact with certain individuals, based on that trust and the transaction history of that user.

The open wallet feature allows everyone access to the same data and information about a user and their activities. So if someone is acting against the best interests of the blockchain as a whole, or is engaging in shady practises, then you are able to trace this and this individual can be pin pointed as a bad actor. It can also help protect against scams/scammers (you know this is true) and further interactions against an individual in any given future activity that would be against your own self-interest and the entire platform as a whole.

As with everything, there will be a compromise somewhere, and it is your choice in the end of whether you want to use the platform or not. Yep, it is a double edged sword, and yes you are right in the fact that it limits your privacy on the blockchain.

The question you need to ask yourself, is what is more important to YOU.

JUST SAYING BRO LOL
