My comic book collection with signatures grows..
When you get boxes of old stuff from your house you tend to get nostalgic about things. I went into ebay and saw that some stuff has appreciated in value. So I decided to start collecting higher end products for display.
I have a few more I will be adding to my collection and they are on the way. I would love to see if there are other steemians in steemit who share the same hobby.
If you have anything to share show me a pic in the comments! I’ll upvote at %100 if they are good ones! I loved the artwork and stories as a kid, and I would say it helped define my own art ambitions.
I'm with you on trying to start collecting some quality over quantity. I actually don't own any CGC comics, but I've been considering picking up one or two to start and see where it goes! I'm more drawn to some classic silver age stuff vs. modern variants or signatures though. Those are some beauts you have, they'll look nice displayed.
I'd like my main focus to be original art. In response to your request for comment pics... here's one! (admittedly low quality, just snapped it now...)
Action pages with heroes in costume are a bit out of my price range currently... but you can still scoop up some great artists, and I just love the quality of the lines and the amazing craftsmanship you can see! This is a page of Supreme Power by Gary Frank. I picked it up on eBay for about $50. I've been meaning to post about collecting original art, I'll have to get on that! @kidsysco does a great regular column about original comic art that's always inspiring...

Oh no prob, if you can take pics of just below the yellow strip. I like seeing where the stuff is signed on the art and stuff, no prob if you don't want to though I fully understand.
I actually have 3 more coming that I wanted to add to my collection. When they are all together I’ll take a better closeup. Follow me and I should have them up in about 2 - 3 weeks. I try to buy the ones that show the artwork without a signature actually ruining the picture. It’s an expensive hobby and I think I’ll take a long break from it after the other 3 arrive. Although I think it might be a good appreciating asset.

Sadly it's currently in storage. Which I won't have access to for about a month.
I'll take pictures of whatever signed comics I have then though. I'm sure at least ONE of my Gen13 Miniseries books is signed.
