[Free Raffle] Carl Mark Force IV ex-DEA Agent's Business Card - The DEA agent who extorted and sold government information to Ross Ulbricht! (Rare Silk Road Memorabilia)

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Huge thanks for such a warm welcome on my first Steemit post (https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@bayareacoins/3stu7f-hi-i-m-bayareacoins-from-bitcointalk-i-m-considering-offering-gold-silver-and-other-rare-items-for-your-steem-sbd-coins-because).

I want to show the love back by trying something that may generate traffic into Steemit + make it fun for users to upvote! It may or may not work, but I figured it would be fun for the community! Everyone's vote here counts the same as far as the raffle goes.

1 upvote = 1 raffle ticket!

My plan is to do a proveable fair raffle for Carl Mark Force's business card! I will be using https://Just-Dice.com/ to do the roll to find the winner. Each person that upvotes by 7-30-16 will be assigned a number on Just-dice and if that website rolls your number on 7-31-16... you win the card for free + free shipping on 8-1-16 worldwide!

The only stipulation is that this post must finish with a value above $1,000! If the value of post is under $1,000 then it is canceled!

This business card is 100% authentic.

Please feel free to spread this around and get some more Non-Steemit users in here voting! I have actually put this in my Bitcointalk signature for more attention in the Bitcoin crowd :)! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=137773

I plan on posting in more places linking my article as well this evening... please feel free to do the same!

Good luck,

I'm in! What's the provenance on this? Must be a good story attached.;)

This card was obtain from Mr Force in a Baltimore coffee shop! Mr Force was offering a "Bitcoin service and consulting" as a side business via Craigslist believe it or not! :D

And handing out his DEA business card to promote it... Even then, using government property to further his own ends! Personally I always look for high tech consulting services on Craigslist.

Rofl the world we live in hu?!

Buying votes (including by raffle) is considered abuse. Downvoted.

"The problem is it all draws from the common reward pool; manipulating votes means you are pulling rewards away from other posts that are being voted on merit. If each sub had its own pool that would be different."

I don't see it as manipulating a vote and the post obviously has merit if it's getting traffic from the site and outside sources plus votes.

Do you have a source for the terms that says giving away items in a raffle style would be manipulative or is it mostly your opinion?

As discussed in PM, the issue of reward abuse is decided by community consensus, not any sort of explicit rules (who would enforce them on a blockchain anyway?). The major stakeholders decide what is abusive and voluntarily flag/downvote to discourage it. We get no rewards for downvoting and our only incentive is to maximize the success of the system (and therefore the value of our investment). This is in fact an explicit part of the design that is discussed in the whitepaper.

Ah I wasn't aware that raffles weren't allowed.

I just just trying to do something fun for the user base here that made their vote count. It's something you can't really go out and buy at a store!

Bummer, I didn't know that either. Maybe one day Steem will have an auction system independent of the voting system.

There is a marketplace being developed. I don't know if it will have auction features but that certainly wouldn't surprise me.

We both learned something!

It would be nice to have like a Raffle sub or something!

The problem is it all draws from the common reward pool; manipulating votes means you are pulling rewards away from other posts that are being voted on merit. If each sub had its own pool that would be different.

Would you mind point that out to me in the terms and services?

When I search "raffle" & "Buying votes" on that page nothing comes up.
