Well, a bigger one anyway!

I was checking discord last night before bed when I saw the news of the crypto crash! Yikes.

Turns out they discovered a huge security flaw with Bitcoin and that caused a chain reaction and here we are sitting at 13 cents for Steem.

Time to Buy!

Finally the time came for me to pick up 5,000 Steem last night and I am very excited. My purchase went through at just under 13 cents so I am hoping that was the bottom and since it hit so hard it will bounce back to year highs! Right? 😁

Back in July, I had about 2500 Steem and my plan was to power down before the Hardfork and sell it on any rise in price. That didn't work out so well, I made some bad investments and lost 2ETH in a crypto scam (really embarrassed) so I converted some Digibyte into ETH last night and when the time was right I picked up just over 5k Steem and immediately powered up.

Powering down isn't for everyone and I won't be doing it again anytime soon. It didn't work out for me last time but I'm glad I was able to pick up this Steem so cheap and am again able to curate good works as well as help out friends and new comers.

Thoughts on Hardfork

The curation awards are now too high to miss out by powering down and the more people that realize this the higher the Steem price will be and maybe even attract more new members who will just be here for the curation rewards. More curators will bring more content creators etc. etc.

Steemit was not looking to good for me the few months before the hardfork, which shows in my posting, but now I am liking where we are headed.

The lower author rewards turned out to be quite a good thing for me and do you want to know why? Because post-hardfork I have gotten more whale upvotes in the past month than I have my entire time here on steemit. To me, this shows a system that works. My hard work is rewarded and also the curators who are loyal to my blog.

Downvoting is a huge issue right now and my stance on the matter is still undecided. Seeing the spam, reward pool destroying, copy and paste assholes get obliterated from the front page is very nice. However, some of those with a little SP go on these downvoting rampages and cause a bunch of drama and ruin the hard work of smaller accounts is a sad business. It goes with the territory I guess. As we move forward, I suspect the downvoting rampages will die down minus a few isolated incidents.

Through it all, I hope the curation rewards combined with good content being noticed will continue to draw more new people to Steemit. When you think of all the commenting and liking done on the major networks for free people would be happy to come here and get paid for it!

It's because of you all that I am still here today. I am constantly surprised by the generosity and genuine caring attitude of our community. Since the beginning, I have been welcomed on Steemit and really appreciate all the interactions with you good people!

I welcome any input on how to make my blog a better one and I will continue to support the steemit community as well as try my best to create decent material to share.

It is my belief that I have made the right move powering up more Steem, only time will tell!
