What is awesome? (including a bonus safety lesson!)

What is awesome? Something which causes awe? Well that's truly someawe.

The thought of awesome is typically something we all are not capable of. Of course in quite many things most of us actually are capable of doing awesome things, like catching a flying seagull using only your hands - but we just don't either want to do it or don't succeed, even though we would be capable of doing it.

So awesome might be a rare case of something. Something we all might be capable of doing but don't do or won't do.

Of course some claim this is an extremely limited point of view. I know it might be, but the thing is that in most cases this works.

Let's use an extreme example. It would be extremely rare to get crushed by a car falling off a cliff. Some would say it's not awesome, but I bet I could find a bunch of people who would think that's an awesome way to die. On the other hand, I could eat a fistful of strong chili which is kind of awesome, but far more common and there would be a very limited amount of people thinking that's awesome.

There are still differences though. Special is a better word for rareness, as not everything special and unique is awesome. So where goes the fine line of being awesome and special?

Luckily, something being awesome is a subject thing.

Something I think is awesome might not be awesome to someone else. If I think stupid shit is awesome, people will think I'm stupid. _{"Hey man, kicking puppies is awesome!" "Hell no!"}

I actually have no decent answer on what is awesome.

But what is the lesson in this?

Some might see that the app-culture on mobile devices is awesome. Everything has to be an app. Some can't use Steem without any apps, they can't even navigate to Steemit.com and use the mobile site as "But I want an app!!!"

The scammers are truly happy when all they need to do is to post a Steem based app and wait for people download the app, give away their password and lose the account control.

This might not give much, most of them are poor with low SP, while giving the scammer only a short time until the account recovery kicks in. However an efficient scammer can gather up a bunch of accounts under his control and gain monetary rewards easily by automating the process.

The scammer truly thinks it's awesome how people do not care about their safety.

So please, don't be awesome.
