What worries me about Steemit.
While Steemit is a great innovation in the fact that it essentially fights censorship, and people can get paid if they bring a lot of value to the community, I also see a real challenge in this platform moving forward. My problem lies in the lack of visibility for newer members and new articles. Newer members have a very difficult time getting their articles or work seen, and after working for an hour to write a beautiful article, people will feel discouraged when they see it only receives 3 or 4 views. Yes I understand you can use steem to power up your article, but why wouldn't I write an article on LinkedIn, where my article can be seen by several hundred people rather than 3 or 4? Because of this, I am seeing a lot of posts that come up that simply focus on getting more follows, more subscribers, and more resteems. Is this good for the community when getting more followers is more important than the creation of amazing content? What do you think?
I'm adfraid steem will become a lost cause. I am really frustrated about this too but there;s no escape. I don't want to transform your post in something that's not meant to be but if you want my opinion just read my last post.
You're right. It's hard to start from 0 and organically reach the coveted 500 Steem Power. Posts by new users often get pushed to the side even if they create something really valuable, while the whales just need to publish a basic article and within a day get $1000 estimated payout. Then there's the viral types who publish whatever gets them the most hits and just leads to more traffic and congestion.
Well have some faith in it. Yes we all know the demoralizing feeling of our posts being lost in the big ocean of posts with no one seeing. But if you look at it from another angle, it makes you work harder on your future posts. And since Steemit is still evolving, let us give it some time. Rome wasn't build in a day : ) Join a support group if you haven't. There are many out there to give minnows a certain leverage. So you are never alone.
For me, i joined #minnowsupportproject. Have a look to see if it suits you. But it still takes time and effort to grow a base here : ) Keep steeming.

You have to be consistent, invest everyday into steepmpower, post blogs, vlogs, comments, and upvote. Find a niche that attracts people, and after awhile your those post will increase in value.
Don't be discouraged! Gaining a following and staying true to the content you provide is hard work! Continue to provide quality content you are passionate about, meet some new people, share your ideas, and the growth will come.
