Woke up to Ads on steemit | 醒来在steemit 见广告 (by @ace108)
Hands up who have seen ads on steemit? Woke up and check the feed and saw ad on the left. Clicked on the "Show more" or "Show fewer" link but don't seem to do any difference to the post listed.
有谁在steemit看见广告的举手？醒来看动态主页见到左边有广告。点击“显示更多”或“显示更少”链接，但似乎与列出的帖子没有任何分别。
Scrolled down and saw another ad.

Checked on someone's post and there is ad at the bottom.

See if @steemitblog has any update on this. Nope, only on the wallet.

I can live with it IF StInc will slow the selling of the coin. If they keep the same pace of selling and have the ads and dont put a piece into the rewards pool, that seems unfair.
There are a bit to many ads I will admit they should have just done a single leaderboard at the top for a bit and tested it out. I still support ads though it will cover operation costs and should increase the value of steem unless steemit gets over greedy.

If you get you right, I think the ads is bit too flashy.
Even fb ones are not that splashing.
I will admit I don't get why they went with Google adsense other then it was most likely the easiest and one of the highest paying to add quickly. I would have rather have seen an internal system but that would of meant more staff and costs approving and managing ads here. I just think they added to many to fast lol.
Yes, I think it's the easiest and fastest deployment option with no much additional overheads.
I noticed quite a while ago. I haven't checking in on Steemit like I used to but I do remember the leadership at the .com talking about bringing adds for several months now. There was even a brief survey about it I filled out back then.
I think one of the reasons was to help pay for the servers to host this website since the price of steem got so low. They said it cost millions per month to run this place. They dropped 75% of the staff in the corporate office too. If the price of steem goes way up again maybe they will remove the adds.
I am not sure if the adds are visible from any of the related apps like busy.org or such, due to the fact I only use this website for all my steemy fun.
I only use this until appics recently but I use appics only for those one photo or one video post because that's the constraint. I checked appics but don't see the ads so far.

Now that you mentioned, i actually haven't seen the ad on mobile when I'm using chrome.
I don't see the ads. I got the ads blocked :)
Why? They are advertising the stuff you were looking at before. :-)

Many changes all of sudden the site is slow too
It does feels bit slow at times today.
Yup.... I got online and surprised to see ads spread over my blog, my feed and even my post page!
Yes, wonder what's the deal and is it good or bad for the platform.
