A voluntary service that I have been providing - aiding in media creation for Steemit posts - began a little over 200 days ago. I love to help people that appreciate it. When I was invited here (thanks @finnian) I started digging up content that I had created and never really did anything with. I posted it here on Steemit and the journey commenced! And 100 posts later, here we are!
I have already created custom graphics for well over 50 people on Steemit and I really enjoy it. I have done lots of projects with @finnian and he is one of my favorite creatives to work with. Since I am now much more comfortable formatting posts on Steemit, I started sharing my knowledge with those interested in learning. Born from that - a new initiative at the end of 2017: The Steemit Quality Content Initiative.
What is it?
Short Answer: Currently a voluntary service that I provide to aid in creating quality content for Steemit. Authors that feel their writing might benefit from photos or custom graphics may not know how to source them - that's where I can help! A musician might be looking for some sweet graphics instead of the boring header text - that's where I can help! A minnow that really focuses on quality posts vs. quantity, might not be comfortable formatting in markdown or html and the editor only does so much for you - that's where I can help!
What's the value?

I have been working on refining a process and simplifying it so that it can: A. Be Easily Replicated By My Peers and B. serve a function efficiently
Not only does the process that I'm going to share help people that wish to learn how to better format their content, but it also helps collaborative efforts become more easily accessible to new users of Steemit. I think this can be easily replicated by anyone, so please do!
WHO CAN USE THIS PROCESS?

THE PROCESS
FOR CREATORS WISHING TO WORK FOR PROFIT OR VOLUNTARILY OFFER ASSISTANCE:
STEP 1: Make a post offering your service(s) - check out the @steemfreelancers page and join if you haven't already! If you are professional offering services-for-STEEM - SIGN UP in SFG Discord! The price of a membership will increase at the end of this month, so check out the blog page and also the new website!! https://www.steemfreelancers.com
STEP 2: Go to https://firepad.io - Open source collaborative code and text editing tool (FREE) and open a PRIVATE PAD. Here's the homepage you will see in the upper-right, the private pad button is right here☟⬇︎☟
STEP 3: Once you have the private pad ready - just grab the link in the EDIT WITH FRIENDS box:
Creators can have their client, friend, or whomever they are working with (whether for-profit of voluntarily) paste the text of a post into the box and both can edit and collaborate within this editor in REAL-TIME!
This simple process has allowed me to help fellow authors (thanks, @bobreedo) that either reached out to me or I to them, to work together, learn and share - something that creates friendships and builds bonds.

After reviewing @yahialababidi's work, I quickly realized this is the type of content creator that deserves whatever assistance that I could offer. He is quite an accomplished author in the real world and he surely should be recognized for his work here on Steemit. He reached out to me on discord and after I looked at his work, I was more than happy to help.
I helped to create some subtle formatting and made some graphic headers to enhance the quality writing that I can really appreciate - we need more of that on the blockchain. Not only was I able to help him, but he also helped me to expand my network. This sort of voluntary action can create a bond that is very strong and it has mutual benefit for everyone.
The process is simple enough that anyone on Steemit can use it. I was able to format and add photos/graphics to the content right on the firepad.io. Yahia could see all of the edits live and I was able to explain what I was doing as he watched. That is inevitably going to advance his knowledge and anyone that participates in this service.
We learn together and grow together.
It is something that can really help people who are unfamiliar with formatting - they will learn very quickly when they see it and especially using their own content to learn. It is something we all have a vested interest in. If you are on Steemit, have an account balance beyond ZERO (0 or more): then you're an investor.

Thanks for the consideration, @bobreedo. I currently have several steemgigs in-progress, but I am happy to help if I can work it into my schedule. I have setup a process that my fellow #SFG members can replicate as voluntary & paid services, so if I am not able to meet your timeline - I can certainly recommend highly skilled help.
What sort of timeline / anticipated post time are you looking at for this post? The process now is simplified to a shared document via firepad.io - https://demo.firepad.io/#Lay8yo5Qj5 this is where you can paste in your body copy for formatting. If I am unable to meet your deadline, I will go through my working contacts of fellow guild members who I know to provide excellent service.
Should you decide to opt for voluntary service of a fellow guild member - I will compensate the artist myself. I leave it up to them to perform service voluntarily, but I do offer that for my own services (a simple consideration as thanks for people like you who supported the initial concept). I will gladly make this work for you one way or another ;)

If you paste what is in firepad - directly into steemit post window - you will need to scroll to the bottom and delete one character (see highlighted below):
Firepad adds that in there for some reason, simply delete that and it should be good to go!
Sorry to be such a noob...but how do I "look" at it...I see the raw screen...not sure how to do a "preview"...

If you paste what is in firepad into the bow you would type a post - it should all be there below in a preview

No, I have not @steemiqa, but will check yours out! I don't really need a discord because I bounce between quite a few as it is and have pretty good luck just chatting with different groups. I also have met people simply by posting about this initiative - so awesome how that works 😉

I also have a fun and simple challenge if you'd like to join in! #iwasakid tag is something I started to help break down barriers and open communication by having people share things about their childhood. We all grow up in different parts of the world and it is fascinating to see the cultural differences, but also to be reminded that we are all very much alike; we are all people. We have all been kids before. We can at least relate on that most basic of levels. It's already been translated into a few languages and I've also paired it with the #uglyduckling challenge, a creation of @livinguktaiwan. We are bridging gaps, my friend. I'm happy to have crossed paths @steemitqa, at such a perfect time at that!

I just saw this post while checking out steemgigs.org! Thanks for the mention, and I'm definitely going to do this. If someone is in Virginia, I will be able to do PI work. No matter where someone is, I can do residential security consulting for them and do the assessments I plan to do. I also plan to sell the cargo pocket trauma kits I make.
Thanks for all the hard work you've done. You've been on a role creating lately, but I've been slacking. This weekend I plan to get a lot of work done here on Steemit!
