Hello friends!


I am Venezuelan and I currently reside in the Venezuelan east, which is characterized by its almost constant warm climate during the 12 months of the year, which is a great advantage because we can find fresh fruits of the season in the supermarket for many months, this allows take advantage of the nutritional value and the flavor that they give to many of our meals.

We can find mango, pineapple, guava, parchita, fruits with strong citrus flavors that give sweet and savory dishes a characteristic flavor that makes them a true delicacy for adults and children. Of all the above, my favorite is the parchita, that intense citrus flavor, nuanced with sparkling nuggets and smell that evokes in my senses the memory of the sea, sand, clear sun, which I am pleasantly only 20 minutes from my house. And is that the parchita is cultivated greatly in countries of warm climates, Brazil is the largest producer, followed closely by my native country.



Its nutritional properties, its exquisite taste, its unique smell which I adore, the relatively low price, made me decide for the parchita as a base for the preparation of my main dish that I will perform to participate in this fabulous contest, then I show you how Make my passion fruit chicken with red peppers.




Ingredients.


pura vida

  • 1 chicken breast.

  • 1 smoked chop.

  • 3 passion fruit.

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar.

  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce.

  • 2 tablespoons of white vinegar.

  • 1 red paprika.

  • 1 branch of chives.

  • 2 cloves of crushed garlic.

  • 1 onion.

  • 1 tablespoon of powdered corn starch.

  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation of chicken and chop.

First I want to recommend marinating the chicken with salt and pepper from the previous night, keep refrigerated until the time of preparation, it is incredible the flavor that gives it compared to do it at the same time you are going to cook. Now, we chop the breast and the bacon in small pieces. Place the latter in a hot pan over medium heat, then incorporate the chicken, cook until both take on a beautiful golden tone, remove from heat and set aside.


Preparation of parchita cream and red paprika.


  • Sauté the onion cut in a feather, with the chives, the red paprika in julienne, the crushed garlic.

  • Then we incorporate the soy sauce, the vinegar, the sugar and finally the juice of parchita,

  • Which we have previously liquefied and strained,

  • We cook and we pepper to taste, finally in 1 cup of water we dissolve the cornstarch we pour it in the pan, stir and cook over low heat.


Serve next to the chicken, and present to your guests, may be with white rice, so that the protagonist is this tropical preparation.

This dish will be the protagonist of a delicious lunch. In my house it was like this, I present them to compete here and my children to enjoy together a delicious meal, today family Sunday.
