POWERVoice! - Week #2 (New Rules!) - (SBD Giveaway and Delegated SP)
Hi everyone and welcome to the second series of POWERVoice!
As you might be aware HF19 bumped a lot voting power, on POWERVoice Week #1 this was not yet a reality, so it will be interesting to see how HF19 changes apply to POWERVoice!
I had also to make a few changes to the rules (based on, but not only, the results of this post) in order to simplify the selection process and make it more scalable. These changes also improve the efficiency and fairness of the idea!
Check the [CHANGED] wording bellow.
A chance for anyone to be heard at Steemit.
Yes, you might be guessing right!
I am promoting the idea of allowing everyone to have a Voice on Steemit.
A voice so loud ... as anyone else...
A POWER Voice!
...at least for a week.
The idea is simple!
Give power, randomly and temporarily to anyone that wishes a Voice!
And back that promise with value (SBD).
What will happen?
During a 7 day period and after the curation date of this post, I will delegate all my post raised Steem Power (SP) and donate all the raised Steem Backed Dollars (SBD) to the selected winner. The selection process is described further bellow.
How can I participate? [CHANGED]
You need to have a valid Vote Up (any weight) before the post curation date to enter the draw.
The POWERVoice rewards:
- All raised SBD (Steem Backed Dollars) at post curation date will be donated to the selected winner.
- All raised SP (Steem Power) at post curation date will be delegated to the selected winner for a period of at least 7 days.
- In some occasions, I will delegate bonus SP to specific users replying the post.
The selection process: [CHANGED]
- There will be ONE selected winner per post to be drawn at the curation date.
- The winner selection is based on a result of a function (explained bellow) calculated at post curation date (my vote is not eligible for selection).
- The function is based on a lottery-style game, where the lottery number is calculated from the average of the post
rshares
of the users that voted, divided by the value of the post "total_payout_value". - The lottery number will then be compared (beginning on the less significative number) against every user
rshares
value. The one that has the most amount of equal numbers at the same position wins. - If there are multiple best results, the one that voted first will be the winner.
The "total_payout_value"
is listed at the post advanced details and determined after the curation period, like in this one (click on advanced mode).
The "rshares"
is retrieved from the vote details of each user that voted.
Results announcement:
I will reply to the post with the selected winner and respective SBD/SP values, after the curation date of the post. If any, the special bonus will also be announced at this stage.
May the POWER be with your Voice!
WARNINGs: [CHANGED]
- The
"total_payout_value"
is NOT the amount of SBD that will be deposited into winner's account. I will only use that value for easy reference. - The amount of
SP
(akaVESTS
) to be delegated into the winner's account is the amount of theSP
received by the "author" of that corresponding post (again, me). If the minimum amount is not reached (10kVESTS
), I will delegate the minimum at least. - At the last 12 hours before curation date, you will not be able to cast votes on the post anymore.
- Why am I using votes instead of replies? Because replies make the attributes of the game very difficult to manage, and also, it incentives people to understand how to vote (you do not need to vote always 100%).
- Watch for fakes! I will explain all calculations and prove them with the blockchain immutable data.
Disclaimer: [CHANGED]
This is a prototype idea to explore certain aspects, flaws or qualities of steem and steemit, that I might change over time or try to improve. This is followed by the motivation I feel from Steemit community, and it is far from perfect or free of errors. My intention is to provide a Voice for others, and if this becomes a somehow "bad influence" to the community or a "monopolised solution" for someone to use due to a bug or exploitable artefact, I will end the initiative (rewards will be donated to steem user). Allow me some time (24-48h) to post the results and send rewards, as this is not an automatic tool or app. Although I will try my best for prompt responses. Any of the above rules may change at my discretion and do not constitute any legal promise, therefore, can fail due to unforeseen events (like a Steem blockchain bug). I will try to be proactive and announce any changes (if any) always at each event. Thanks for understanding.
Produce quality SteemCATAPOOM, RESTEEM if you wish to show others what you have learned... and, VOTE for Witnesses!
We have a clear WINNER! Congratulations @karenmckersie!
The prize is: 2.356 SBD, and 1.304 STEEM POWER (delegated for 7 days) - since the minimum is 10k VESTS and 1.304 < 10k VESTS at the moment... I delegated 10K VESTS.
Can I play again? :]
Anyone can play. As many times anyone wants... This is the purpose of an open community.
Awesome! If I ever come up to New Zealand, I'm sooo gonna buy you a beer :D
Warn in advance and you might taste the one I brew!
Hahaha! BTW, I read the comments on GitHub, from the link you sent me and it seems like they have an auto script that undelegates the SP from users who have gained 55+ SP on their own which also takes into account any extra delegations so you might wanna be careful about this! Probably wouldn't be wise to delegate SP to a newbie who already has a delegation! :]
No... Sorry. This script is "somehow" changing (over time), so do not take it as fixed info and for sure do not get for granted what you read out there (if not from any of the Steem devs). The purpose of the Steem delegation is to provide new users with a chance to start at Steem. It is presumed that users will eventually have their own SP. So the delegation is not actually a rule, it's a temporary gift! They do some other scans to decide on who to remove Steem, which they do not reveal (and are not required to, and you or anyone can also do the same scans). The essence here is that if you are well-behaved, steem (user) will have nothing to against maintaining your delegation. But if you are somehow not worth the delegation, they can wisely decide to take it. Things that promote steem are maybe 50%, SP, so if you have it, likely you will try to behave right? Then other things come to play... like the amount of improvement and people flagging you.
Yes, they sometimes check! So behave. that's my recommendation. We are all trying to build a better network.
I am constantly learning. And I am not perfect. But I would like to improve! Always!
It's a simple process of rewarding people that want to contribute positively to the network. =)
Fair enough. I can't believe I'm the only one who has commented on this! LOL :]]] Thanks for doing this anyway. Much appreciated :]
My friends only thing about money! =) LOL... This is a teasing...
We are almost finding out the winner. Unfortunately, prices went down a bit... :S
